USF has 2 top 100 wins...so it's slightly unfair to group them together with BC and Rutgers.

BC's best win is New Hampshire (172).

Rutgers's best win is Fairleigh Dickinson (230).

They might be the 2 worst teams ever in the history of major conference basketball.

BC's best win is New Hampshire (172).

Rutgers's best win is Fairleigh Dickson (230).

They might be the 2 worst teams ever in the history of major conference basketball.
But at least they are consistent.

Imagine a tournament with those 3 plus 1 more awful team. Call it the Futile Four. Chang the rule so losers advance to the final National Disaster. Who do you pick? How do you seed?

Rutgers is so bad they might not go .500 in the NEC this year...

In a reverse tourney, I would nominate St. John's as the fourth team.

I'd seed (worst team being seeded 1)

1. Rutgers
2. BCU
3. St. John's
4. USF

USF beats Rutgers. I don't have a clue who wins BCU/St. John's.

I agree the Johnnies would be a worthy non-competitor in the Futile Four. That BC Rutgers matchup would be a good one! Has a basketball game ever ended in a scoreless tie? That one just might. Remember the loser advances.

USF beat a mediocre Memphis team over the weekend. As awful as they looked last night at home, they would roll both Rutgers and Boston College.

As far as who is better between those two? I liken it to the sound made by an unwitnessed tree falling in the woods.

USF doesn't belong in that four - they're not even the worst team in the conference.

Washington State, DePaul, Wake Forest, maybe even Minnesota are more deserving.

Rutgers loses to USF
BCU loses to St Johns

Championship is Rutgers/BC

And I smell an upset!

I had debated removing USF for Wake but Wake does have 11 wins and are in a better league.

And BC could only squeak out the W over UNH in OT

You already know Wake can beat Boston College (last week) and Rutgers (November). That destroys the hypothetical out of the gate, to say nothing of the fact that they beat #13 Indiana, UCLA, and NC State.

True, another reason not to include Wake.

BCU, Rutgers and USF walk in to a bar.

The bartender looks up and says, "What is this, a joke?".

And the one bartender in attendance would be more than those three teams normally draw.

I know Providence has a really good team this year by their standards, but I'm watching the beginning of this PC/DePaul game. It's a real good one. 2-2 over 5 minutes in. This is some of the worst basketball I've seen this year, outside of the last five minutes of games UConn loses.

Also, fans at the Dunk stand until Provy scores? Wonder where they got that one from?...

G Tech beat BC by 5 today, 76-71. Northwestern beat Rutgers by almost 40, 98-59.

As ungodly horrific as BC is, comparing them to Rutgers is probably not fair. RU has taken suck to an entirely different level.

The almost completed, almost incomprehensible conference double, however, is a historically horrific accomplishment.
