There was a strange atmosphere at the game. The civic center was almost full, yet it was very quiet. The crowd never got into the game and the game experience was borderline boring. Kind of weird. I think part of it was that there we no UConn runs and the play was uninspired. USF played a good game and all their players were focused on every possession. They ran good plays successfully.
After the game, during the fan and student give-away, Geno had a great line. He was picking out names to win tickets to a play at the Bushnell. Someone yelled out that it was their favorite play. Geno said, "Your favorite play? Really? Huh. You know my favorite play? Put the ball in the hoop -- that's my favorite play." With the classic Geno delivery and timing, it was very funny.
