That was more of a foul than was necessary

Is that an intentional foul call? They got a FT and the ball

lucky that no foul was called on the final shot...... (would have to see replay to be sure)..... but we got the Gold!

USA Wins 17-16 as France hits a two point shot after the Buzzer sounded. Bria got called for an intentional foul. The foul was the right idea, just not an intentional one. Missed Free Throws almost did Team USA in.

Great Gold Medal for a team that hasn't been together long.

Yes - that was! And then luckily the time ran out before the final foul! USA shot poorly today but still eeked out the two games. A great tournament for the women. I can see this taking off all over teh world as a separate game.

Time ran out - they only had one second which seemed like it took about three seconds to expire.

I saw one second on the clock, then they changed it to two. I was worried they were going to call that last foul but they waved it off

What kind of "game" is this anyway? 10 minutes?

PS Thanks for the thread. I was working and turned you guys on to read this. Wonderful!

Wow, that was exhausting and scary

A very thrilling game indeed. As the saying goes, "Defense wins championships"...today was no exception...GREAT JOB ladies...way to represent the USA and bring home the Gold!!

Seems like it was an exciting game. Congrats to the ladies on a hard earned win! And I'm so glad Ann got a chance to play like that again. Seems like just yesterday that she was doing the same thing for UCONN!

Yes - I think I was happiest for Ann - first gold medal for her at a time where she had retired from competitive play.
