Why would Stanford be above Duke, as Stanford was less impressive last season and lost Kokenis and Tinkle, whereas Duke lost no one?

And how did Maryland get it before it was posted on Yahoo or more importantly, USA Today?

I don't get Stanford at #2. Chiney is great but there are a lot of holes in the rest of the roster.

This poll has been out there for a few days I think in. I saw it earlier this week, maybe on twitter.

Stanford at #2 allows ESPN to promote an early-season #1 vs #2 matchup. So I'm sure they were happy to see that ranking for the Cardinal.

I also think Stanford tends to win more of the matches they're supposed to win than does Duke. That's my only guesstimate as to why the ranking was that way.
