USA ranking #56

I just saw the first 2026 rankings for all FBS teams from USA Today. #56 for us. UMass is #138. Boston College and Rutgers are behind us, so is Colorado State. I hope we'll move up into the top 40...and by the end of the season top 30...

It says something about the program producing competitive teams over the past few years. That is Mora’s doing. It needs to be sustained and Candle has to produce with an entirely new squad out of the gate. Not fair, but reality.

Probably ranked a little on the high side. We're ahead of about 7 B1G teams and a few from the SEC. Few other head-scratchers, WKU at 37, Whew Mexico at 42, etc., JMU. Many teams ranked too low. MIchigan State at 105 (barely ahead of Eastern Michigan), etc. Not shedding any tears for BCU at 111.

Love to see us live up to that ranking!

I’m happy with the ranking but it truly makes no sense. No one has any clue how good/bad next year’s team will be. We have like 70 new players and a whole new coaching staff. I like the respect…but it’s not based in any perceivable reality.
