USA-Opals!

Bad Defense by Parker, never did put a body on Cambage. She's getting as low in the post as she wants with easy layups as a result. Got to push her away from the body. Even if it means putting Swin and Ashja in the game and use them up if they get called for fouls.

I am beginning to see why WNBA games are so high scoring these days. No one knows how to D it up.

1 good play, 1 bad play, 1 good play, 1 bad play. USA is going to have to try to win with this lack of cohesion.

Yikes! Just caught up with the thread. Can't watch at work. Doesn't sound good.

47-43 at the half - I feel sick. Like the final 4 game last year - can the US turn this around?

Good news is that Opals are starting to miss some shots. They cooled off just a bit at the end of the half. The bad news is that the US isn't heating up yet. Maya, Parker, and McCoughtry in particular have made some really poor decisions in terms of passing/shooting, and CP3 cannot guard Cambage. If the US wants to counter Australia with small ball, we need to be more effecient on offense.

US just played terribly. Shot and pass selection was not good. Defense was bad.

Hopefully they regroup at the half. Such an unfocused effort out there will not cut it with the way Australia is playing. I am quite frankly shocked at the C game some of these WNBA super stars brought to London.

Sue was a huge bright spot in the first half for Team USA. She may need to play the full final 20.

Big Key, Cambage only had 1 foul in the 1st half with 19 points. Most of the points were easy layups.

FT Australia 5 - 7 USA 6 - 9

Australia leading because of their shooting Percentage which is over 60% to USA's 43%.

This game reminds me of the men's game until the mid-range shots started to fall. I think Geno will have a different emphasis in the 3rd...driving the paint against that collapsing defense isn't working and we're not drawing any fouls.

Well I guess the good news is we can't play worse than that and it's still close.
