Saw a couple of tweets from Kenny Kalina criticizing the picks since no player from the State of Florida was chosen. He of course if from Florida and is heavily involved with players from Florida. Don't know who USA Basketball uses to come up with the list of invitees, but its got to be hard to pick the players.

Sour grapes. Is he crying too because no one from Florida is in the top 25 in ESPN's 2015 rankings? Because unless I read it wrong, they don't have anyone from FL in their top 25. Blue Star does, though. 3 kids from Florida in their top 25...

I'd say that Florida is having a bad year if they have no one in the top 33. Kenny may have a legitimate gripe.

Article says they are going to add another 100-125. That should cover FL.

I believe the additional 100-125 are going at their own expense. Even if Florida players are included in this group, IMHO its not the same. IMHO Kenny is really complaining on the process that is used to select players. Don't know why USA Basketball can't have Regional Evaluations on a yearly basis to identify players. It seems the evaluations could be held during any number of the AAU events where most players are already in attendance.

What makes you think they don't? I have seen them at some of the big tournaments throughout the year, they just don't advertise it, which actually is a good thing as they are wAtching quietly. A lot of the recommendations come from college coaches, who really don't have any of these kids signed at this age.

BTW: In addition to UConn 2015 target Asia and Katie, DeJanae Boykin from Maryland is anothr 2015'er invited and
I think we have seen posts that indicate she and UConn have mutual interest.

USA basketball does go to AAU tournaments and scout these players over the summer, they also send out forms to college coaches for their input on players that should be invited by position,
