Are these training camp invitees not playing overseas this year? Or have their clubs allowed them to come back?

Strong contingent of recent U.S.A. 5x5 and 3x3 players, as well as others who have donned U.S. jersey at some point (K-Mac), along with some WNBA players who have caught the committee and/or Coach Reeve's eye (Laney, Hamby, Thomas, etc.).

Very weird that A'ja Wilson isn't attending, since she is not overseas (though if anyone is a lock for the team, it's her and Stewart).

Nice to see a lot of players who are coming off injuries back in action: EDD, Angel, A. Thomas. Really happy the last two WNBA most improved award winners (Brionna Jones and Betnijah Laney) are getting a look.

It's an international break for these qualifying so most major leagues are taking time off, but a few have had to move games that were postponed to that period so it is not quite the one or two week vacation that non-national team players have been accustomed to getting in recent seasons. I would assume that a player or two might not make it to the first practice or more, which is why they invited some players who do not plan on playing competitive games.

Players that are overseas:
Atkins is in Ukraine
Howard is in Russia
Jones and Thomas are with the same team in the Czech Republic
McBride and Plum are in Turkey

Mitchell is playing with Athletes Unlimited so I suppose that she has to miss two weeks of that.

Thanks for that. Wow, Atkins is in Ukraine? Whew...add another layer of stress to the proceedings.
I had read K-Mac was back in Turkey and just spaced.

I know in th past some of the high profile players don’t go to every training camp. Not sure why A’ja isn’t on there, but they always have a pool of players to choose from. Brittany Griner isn’t on there either.

Thanks...appreciate it. Very aware of ND's presence in the WNBL in Australia: Lindsay Allen back with Melbourne Boomers and both Jackie Young and Marina Mabrey with the Perth Lynx (Mabrey is leadling/close to leading the league in scoring). K-Mac has taken some time for herself during off-seasons recently, so I just blipped on whether this was an "on" (play) or "off" year.

Do we know what Nneka's status is? Is she done with USA basketball? This is not a list of power players who are credibly better qualified than Nneka...

Didn’t she try to play for Nigeria? Don’t think she can play for the US anymore

The United States wins both of their games although the Belgium one was the only one that needed much of an effort.

Hopefully Atkins did not leave anything nice behind when she flew to the United States. The owner of the team secured a temporary home for them in Bulgaria so that they can try to win EuroCup so Joyner Holmes, Nikolina Babic, and the rest of the team should be on their way there. His men's team also has a continental competition to play in so they have set up shop in the Czech Republic.

Arella Guirantes probably will not want to return after she finishes playing for Puerto Rico.

The players on the other teams in the league have been told to stay and that they will not be let out of contracts right now. Ciera Johnson left on her own, but there have been warnings that players will be taken to arbitration if they follow suit. The foreign players that are still there are Akilah Bethel, Kelley Cain, Keke Calloway, Taeler Deer, Taylor Jones, Leaonna Odom, Ieshia Small, Kristen Spolyar, and Vee Young. It is unclear if Natalie Day is there as she played in her team's last game, but not this weekend so far.
