Now we know why Griner is so tall. I never noticed Renee underneath her before.

Griner's presence on this trip is interesting. We know that after the Baylor game last year
in Hartford Geno told Brittney that he wanted to coach her with the seeming implication that he
was referring to the 2012 London team. I am betting that he will push for her addition
when the final cuts are made. She has some unique assets on defense and is skilled enough on offense
to at least make the other teams guard her...her offensive improvement from frosh to soph was considerable.
Given that...and given the London experience she would enjoy with Geno and his staff...I am betting that USABasketball will
include her on the team....both for her current impact and for the Rio games in 2016 and beyond.

Griner looks thicker...that won't be good for the competition this year...will be harder to push her away from the basket.

The post combination of Charles, Fowles and Griner makes the US set for the next 10 or so years as there is no one in the world even close to that. It will be a very good idea for USA basketball to have Griner as part of the 2012 games.
