I got an email from RetailMeNot. Krispy Kreme is selling a dozen donuts for 80 cents. Today only. Enjoy!

Looks like it's actually a buy a dozen donuts at regular price, get a second dozen for $0.80. Almost half price if you need 2 dozen donuts.

Ah, thanks for the details. But that should be easy for Triad. "A piece of cake," one might say. :D

Are there any Krispy Kreme places in Connecticut? I knew them in Maryland when I was very young. They were very good.

Haven't seen one in this neck of the woods.

Hey! Read the French fries' entry and now this, Milford. We should label this thread the Suicide Issue.
Full disclosure: when I was a little boy, my father and I would sneak off for Krispy K's to await the launching of the red flag that signaled the fresh arrival of hot glazed do-nuts. We bought some ice cold milk and consumed a dozen hot and squishy KK's. Then we sneaked back home, avoided my mother, and waited for the pain to abate.

Maybe 20-30 years ago...... a dozen would be no problem...... now as i advance in age.... probably couldnt eat more than 7 at a setting.

I believe Triad normally buys 2 dozen at a time.

You do know that Krispy Kreme is a heart attack waiting to happen?

Always one in the crowd (thread)

That's why I'm encouraging Triad. ;)

Just kidding.

I havent been to a Krispy Kreme in maybe two years. Its a quality product.... and has roots here in the Triad... but Im much more partial to a local chain called Donut World. They always smile when I walk through the door for some reason. :p

Please dont that link if you are hungry for sweets

And I thought that Krispy Kreme with Cheerwine was still a staple for you. Thanks for updating me.

Ive cut back on my soda consumption in recent years..... pretty much the only time I drink a soda is when i go to Wendys or Cookout (my favorite fast food chain) ...... Wendy's quit selling Cheerwine a few years ago......... so I just got Cheerwine when I went to Cookout. But....
funny thing is..... I'd been drinking Cheerwine since I was a kid..... but only discovered it contained caffeine til recently. So trying to avoid caffeine late at night.... I switched over to either Pink Lemonade or Milkshakes whenever I indulge at Cookout :)

But since you mentioned it... i do have a taste for a cheerwine.... might have to put up a can tomorrow

Game Of Thrones.

And you're not a fan.

Puritan Maid bakery on the Silas Deane Hwy in Wethersfield. Sunday mornings after church. Great local bakery. Big donuts were $.40 a baker's dozen (1960). They put Dunkin' and Krispy Crème to shame. Line out the door if you didn't beat the rush after the Catholic church across the street finished their mass.

Who says they weren't the good old days? :D

Is Duck Donuts worth a visit? They just opened one in Columbia.

They finally opened one here a few months ago......I was eagerly awaiting their arrival. Every time I went by... it was crowded... and this was around 7pm on a weekday. But since you asked.... I'll be sure to stop by this week to check it out.

I'm off work this week so I may make it over there.
