McNeeley 12th

Karaban 48th

Think that’s the range Karaban would likely decide to come back. That 45-60 range will be there for him after his senior year, if he doesn’t improve his stock.
Possible 5-out rotations with Alex at 4 and Reibe at 5 would be awesome.

No bad choice for Alex: would love to have him back, but would be amazing to see him in the league next year too.

Rebounding? Defense? Not that we would be better with him in the league. But those 2 together at the defensive end without Reibe being significantly better at the defensive end could be a problem.

Question. Does Alex do better money wise coming back NIL or drafted, signed and playing in the G league?

Alex participated in senior day. Doesn’t mean much after the past two years but if he plans on doing the combine again then he’ll have to stay in it this time.

It’s an interesting situation that will be more and more common is a borderline underclassman NBA pro can make more money staying in college than struggling in the Gleague.

Did that change? I thought you were able to withdraw 2 times from the NBA Draft
Just double checked and it is indeed two times. Never knew that.

So yeah there’s a chance Karaban still comes back after testing the waters. Every sophomore may as well go to the combine as well to get an evaluation in this case too.

I wrote this earlier somewhere else, but I would not be shocked if we get both Liam and Alex back next year. I think NIL now gives players choices. And the choice for Liam, as it is for Flagg, is to potentially make millions while developing his brand and enjoying college, instead of going pro right a way. Flagg is flirting with the idea. And if Flagg is considering it, then Liam should too, because Flagg is better. And a team with Liam, Alex, Mullins, Adams, Solo, Reed, Jr., Reibe, and Stewart is a scary unit. Bring a PG and another big body and now you immediately have a title contender again. Would I put money that Liam returns? No. But when I read that Flagg was considering it, my hopes increased.

Flagg is not considering coming back to Duke, just like Liam will not be coming back to UConn. Liam is a lottery pick and Dan Hurley will pack his bags for him and forge his signature on the NBA early entry paperwork if needed, he's gone. Alex will have a legitimate decision to make and NIL will play a factor there

Flagg isn't flirting with the idea. There's a 0% chance Flagg and McNeeley come back.

the goal for any nba lottery pick isn’t the first contract, it’s the second one. Nil is pocket change to that.

Flagg isn't flirting with anything, you fell for engagement bait from social media aggregators. You guys do this every single time when we have guys who are guaranteed first round if not lottery and fool yourselves into thinking they're coming back, Liam is gone.

My guess is Alex is to.
At this point Alex is fully mature and developed at the collegiate level. Another year, as a senior, even with better overall stats won’t help his draft stock much.. He is who he is at this point and better for him to start his next chapter now.

I need to see how he finishes out the season, up until like mid-January Alex was averaging 16 a game on 40% from 3 on high volume, if he didn't go into the tank and kept up his performance he would be a guarantee to be gone. Who knows how badly his performance during the chunk of BE play affected his standing with scouts, at the end of the day no team is drafting him to be a top scoring option like he is here, it's to be a floor spacer/connecter and knock down open 3s.

A good agent can spin his season a million different ways. For Alex, it’s all about how he performs in front of scouts. There is enough tape on him, both good and bad, that any Gm or talent evaluator can justify their opinion, either good or bad. Selfishly, i’d love another year of Alex in Storrs, but it won’t help him any.

If the Spurs have 9 and 11 and Liam is available, he will be a teammate of Steph. The Spurs front office loves UConn and this is another match made in heaven.
Let's not put too many great ex Hurley players on the Spurs with Wemby--especially with Pops potentially retiring soon. Might be tough for Hurley to turn down that head coaching offer if he can get that young team with a bunch of Hurley's guys on it.

Although, I cannot envision Andrea living in San Antonio. :D

If you have Alex coming back with Reed and Reibe at center why would we need another big body? Where would he play? I think we would be fine at PF/C but need more athletic, Tall wings and PG in the 6'4"-6'7" range.
