Reibe measured 6'11.75" in shoes 4 months ago. So either he hit a growth spurt, or...
Height decreases by about 1/2 to 1 inch from the beginning of the day to the end of the day mostly due to disks in the spine losing volume and to some extent other joints being compressed. Plus for some people fatigue in muscles can affect posture. Tall people will lose more height than short people on average. Shoes vary in height as well. Some might increase height by 1.25 inches and others by 1.5 inches as an example. He’s also a teenager with extreme height genetics and could easily still be growing now. Plus height measurements can vary slightly depending who does the measuring.
The players with changes from last year could be guys that are half way in between a measurement (ex. 6’3.5) and rounded down last year but rounded up this year for whatever personal reason.

Every guy gets a padded inch?
Check Rothstein/Hurley interview posted by @Blades. Hurley conveyed Solo and Reed, Jr. height not in sneakers, and might have given one more. IDK if he is 'padding' reality but why cannot we get a picture of each player in NCAA on a height chart - doesn't have to look like a police lineup but we would all believe height if we saw them in socks with a real measurement.

Except Silas who evidently shrunk from his height of 6-5 @ Georgia, LOL !

But our "official" list might be without sneakers; conversely, theirs could be with. We don't know but pretty soon we can see Silas and Solo at the same time on the court - if they are both 6'4" we will know.

Either Alex or Koroma are the 3rd string center.
I think you play Koroma in that spot and Alex is an in case of emergency break glass contingency. Koroma appears to be pretty solid in what I saw. Maybe not high major solid, but solid enough for a few minutes if there's foul trouble.

don't mind me but that's what she said.
Perfect spot for a gif

Im sure that Alex only played the 5 last year due to necessity from our big's foul trouble mostly, but the set with him at the 5 was something I looked forward to. He'd be the best 3rd center in the country.
Alex is actually the 3rd biggest guy on the team and Koroma is only 212lbs. Alex is the 3rd big. With our forward depth, it makes sense. Still waiting for that Arafan Diane reclass and commitment. Lol

Singare played minutes in three meaningful games last year. In 23 minutes had four points (all in one game), six rebounds, and six fouls. The idea that we needed to replace him with some tall stiff was bizarre to me. I'm certain Koroma or Alex can give us meaningful minutes if Reibe/Reed is in foul trouble.

I’ve been wondering why we tend to not exaggerate heights but decided Reibe needed an extra inch on his profile?

These guys make me nuts:
Tarris is Adama….except he is bigger, is as fast, is longer and jumps higher than Sanogo. To say there is no comp between the two is just insulting to Bear.
Solo vs. Hawk: OMG. White guy thought Hawk shot better in 22. when presented with the numbers, which show he shot fewer % than Solo last year, his response was what? A 1.5 ppg discrepancy???? Dude is a joke. Solo gonna show this year.
Clingan of 22 vs. Reibe:: Clingan of 22 had ZERO offensive game. Huge D, of course, but no offense. Reibe on year 1 will have sooooo much more offensive game than Clingan of 22, is not even funny.
White dude made me hot.

His point was Reed hasn’t had a season like junior Sanogo and Reed is going on his senior year. Don’t think anyone questions Reeds physical prowess. Don’t think there’s anyone outside of them who doubts Reed will be a monster this season anyways.

The Solo/Hawkins comparison is fair. Sophomore Hawkins was a significantly better overall player than Sophomore Ball, you’d have to project significant improvement in his areas of weakness. Everyone knows they’re about the same as shooters.

Putting the odds of Riebe being more impactful than freshman Clingan at less than 5%. No disrespect to Riebe, Clingan was ridiculously special.

A reminder of what Clingan was already doing before we even got to conference play.

I was annoyed but his matter of fact “no argument” tags. I’ve never listened to him before so I have no idea if that’s a figure of speech, but literally every time he made that proclamation it was in reference to something very much arguable… he may turn out to be right about those things, but it’s not obvious at all. This time in 2023 I don’t think everyone in his position was predicting:

-best sniper in the country Hawkins
-Final Four MOP Sanogo
-instant/immediate game-changing impact player Clingan

Especially that last one, I recall either lack of hype or outright doubts about potential. His tone when saying “no argument” was just obnoxious.

Tarris has only one year of UConn coaching and he inexplicably came off the bench and averaged a hair under 20 minutes per game. He's simply more talented than Sanogo and I think we'll get to see it this upcoming season and he's going to be an NBA player, IMO.

Hawkins was more solid defensively than Solo up to this point but Solo was certainly just as good as Hawkins on the offensive end.

There's no way Reibe will be as impactful as freshman as Donovan was as a freshman.

I haven't watched the video.
