Unless you are Kentucky I don't see the value before the top 3 recruits at least in terms of ranking recruiting classes.......

So ranking just on the top 3:

Top 3/School/Blue Star

1 Texas 3
2 Baylor 6
3 Maryland 1
4 Ohio State 4
5 Louisville 2
6 Virginia 12
7 Connecticut 10
8 Florida State 8
9 Notre Dame 14
10 USC 9
11 Vanderbilt 11
12 Stanford 17
13 Iowa 7
14 Mississippi 19
15 Texas Christian 13
16 Michigan 16
17 Oregon 5
18 North Carolina State 21
19 North Carolina 15
20 Texas A&M 20
21 Washington 24
22 Arizona State 23
23 Wisconsin 22
24 West Virginia 18
25 Wake Forest 25

See a difference?

The fallacy of these rankings is us, and how we consume the data. I learned this the hard way when I became obsessive about my daughter's ranking and started to correspond directly with people like Chris Hansen, Glen Nelson & Bret McCormick and other determined to change their minds. Luckily they were more patient with me than I was with them and in the process I got some very good advice about the recruiting process and these rankings.
All of the services have different methodologies and criteria for the rankings ,every ranking ( individual or team) is a single subjective data point. Bret McCormick once advised paraphrased: " In order for you to gain the proper perspective, assume that what I wrote about your Daughter was based on seeing her on her best day. Then assume it was her worst day".
Here is a Glen Nelson Article from 2009 that speaks to some of this stuff.
