2026 Recruiting: Update on Qayden Samuels - Visiting This Weekend

Nothing much but figured I'd post it anyway.

Four-Star SF Qayden Samuels: UConn and Georgetown have each hosted Samuels for an official visit. He was set to visit NC State last weekend, but it appears the Wolfpack has shifted its focus to another target in Cole Cloer. Alabama is expected to host him this weekend. The Tide have a couple of other players committed (Tarris Bouie, Chris Washington Jr.) and have also made Caleb Holt top priority. UConn remains a viable option for Samuels but the Huskies are expected to host a similar player in Colben Landrew this weekend. As always in recruiting, there is a domino effect and sometimes, the first player to commit, gets the spot. Ed Cooley and the Hoyas are still worth monitoring.

In that same thread as HuskyNan's comment another fan of the women's team said she wasn't that highly ranked as a recruit but Geno decided to take her to fill out the class. She was never expected to play much. She got some run in 2023-2024 because of all the injuries. I can't comment on any of that because I don't follow the women's team much.
Good kid, seem to fit in well with the team and be well liked. Seemed like she was predominantly a threat from three. My personal observation was that she didn't make a big jump forward from her freshman to her sophomore year.

I think the take away for her brother is that nothing is guaranteed here and you have to work for your slot.
