Update on Jessika Carter

In light of the tangent the other thread took and the seriousness of the situation I wanted to start another thread for the update.

Thank you for starting this thread... I posted an update in the other thread, but this is a more appropriate place for it. Hopefully the Bulldog family (and others) will give her the love and support she needs.

This breaks my heart. I remember Jessica first presser with Vic, she was so shy almost childlike. As time advanced Jessica exhibited more confidence and comfortable with her role. I never saw any hint of depression. This is not about basketball it is concerning a real problem for many in our world. Get well Jessica and know you are loved.

This is always saddening to hear. I hope she continues to seek professional help. I'm guessing that she wrote this post right after getting out of the mental hospital, so she's probably having a "mountain top" experience. In my similar experience, I also was on the moon before crashing again over the next few weeks. I spent the majority of my 20s battling depression and suicidal thoughts as well as a suicide attempt, so I deeply empathize with her situation. These situations are marathons and not sprints. I can't even imagine the added pressure of being a public figure. Keep up the good fight and get yourself a good support system! We're all rooting for you Jessika!

This is a new topic...I do not know how to actually start a new one...so am putting it here...sorry if that misleads anyone.

Game last night;
Iowa State 77 Iowa 70.

Clark had 26 for Iowa...10 for 26 from the floor.
Ashley Joens had 26 for ISU...9 for 28 from the floor.

I wouldn't mind a home/home with either of these teams...would be great crowds....and a chance to catch the eye of underclass kids in the midwest...where a lot of elite type players are.

Wow this is so heartbreaking. Lord mental health for this generation is real. I’m praying for her and everyone who is silently fighting any mental health issues. This really breaks my heart

So very sad, mental health is often taken for granted and I hope she has a good support system as she battle this.
On a side note, I know this is nitpicking but remember her name Jessika.
