UConn, what are your thoughts on them, and what’s their pitch?

“I really like the coaching staff. They showed me a lot of love. It’s a great school on and of the court. They like the fact that I’m a big guard which means I can play point guard or shooting guard. They love my style of play and think I can come in and be an impact guy.”

We're losing Bouk this year and RJ/Brendan/Rese next year. I would imagine that we're still recruiting him, though it may be a harder sell with Gaff/Diggins/Hawkins/Floyd/Jackson already playing the 1-3 spots for us.

I don't think we can assume who and who we aren't losing next year. Given the extra year of availability, we just don't know the player's mindset or the coach's perspective.

KFree is a family friend of the Hand family- Some history there. Corey F also has a HS teammate who has a similar comp. Simeon Wilcher (2023) who is getting a lot of attention. and CF says he's trying to "recruit" him to Storrs.

Don't know if there is any redundancy there or not. Still early but we certainly will need shooters and bucket getters who can play different guard positions.

When I read these threads I think I just want a point guard like AJ Price or Shabazz out there. Recruit point guards who can pass, dribble and shoot. Too much to ask?

I think the consensus is that we are still looking for a combo guard type in addition to Floyd, who is more of a 2/3. Justice Williams seems to be priority #1 but Hand seems to fit in that category, as perhaps a backup plan to Williams.

I was on my HS newspaper as sports editor and played ball. Got this by the faculty lead as a headline when we lost to them in States in 1979 (ugh)

Before I trolled the boneyard I was a regular troller of the CT HS boys volleyball forums. Daniel Hand would usually win games and threads in that forum would start with Hand Over (Insert HS name here). I thought the HS name was Hand Over for the longest time.

Every time I see a Hand Wrestling jacket, banner or mention, I immediately think of what hand wrestling would look like. I picture it like arm wrestling, but with your wrists flat on the table so only the hands are fighting.
