Update on 2015 Prospect De'Janae Boykin

An article in the Washington Post yesterday profiled De'Janae Boykin, a 6'2" F and the #4 ranked prospect in 2015 according to ESPN and #6 according to ProspectsNation.com.

By the time Boykin started high school, she had added an offer from West Virginia. Schools such as North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Duke and Georgetown joined the chase with offers, and Connecticut and Notre Dame have also shown interest, among others.

She’s taken unofficial visits to all the schools listed above that have offered and several in some cases. She attended both regular season meetings between Duke and North Carolina this season and was also in Morgantown, W.V., earlier this month when the Mountaineers hosted top-ranked Baylor.

Boykin said she’s planning trips to Connecticut and Notre Dame this summer in hopes of landing formal offers to add to her growing total.

“It’s kind of hard,” Boykin said. “When there [are] a lot of schools that like you and you like a lot of schools, you know making a decision is going to be tough.”

found this video, she played her freshman year at Riverdale Baptist in Maryland, transferred to her neighborhood school after the riverdale baptist coach took a college job at George Washington Univ in Washington DC according to another article I found

The 6-2 Boykin led Boo’s team in scoring in its two pool games earlier Saturday, with 15 and 14 points, respectively.

But the Jersey team represented a step up in competition, the kind that Boo’s team will see the remainder of the summer – in terms of talent, cohesiveness or both.

“I told the girls, ‘Geno stuck around and watched the whole game,’” Boo said. “He wouldn’t have done that if there wasn’t something worth watching.”
