Eckmark dropped from 16 to 26. No Kia Nurse in the top 150???

You have to take into account which players are clients of that group and their services. Some of them pay money to them for events, training, videos, etc. That clearly factors in to what they do.

Not sure how much Ekmark played in the AAU Events. If she didn't that might be why she dropped. Dunbar jumped because she signed with the Lady Vols :)

Keep in mind, it's "Prospects Nation"

But seriously, I don't get why they have around 200 prospects as four-stars. In men's basketball rankings, prospects ranked from around 26 to 100 are usually four-stars, with the three-stars then starting around 101.

Agree. Would they even travel to Canada to watch prospects play?

They wouldn't have had to travel to Canada. Nurse's AAU team played at the USJN National Championships in DC this summer.

What have you done for me lately? She didn't play summer AAU ball. Look at the leaps by Paris Kea, Dekeiya Cohen and Kortney Dunbar. Brianna Turner also dropped.

No Kia Nurse in the top 150???
These US reviewers usually don't even try to rate the women north of the border. Achonwa was never rated by Hoopgurlz (when the guys that run Prospects Nation used to run Hoopgurlz), although they stated that if she were rated, she would have been top 25. (Of course they said that AFTER she blossomed last season.)

There are other Canadian girls listed.

That was my feeble attempt at a joke, but for the record, the Caron-Goudreau twins, although they're from Quebec, are now playing high school ball in Florida at IMG Academy.

FullCourt Top 50 - Link

Have Turner Ranked #1
Both Full Court and Blue Star have Brianna Turner ranked first, but she dropped in Prospects Nation to 5th. This consistent with the fact that Brianna played for USA Basketball last summer but not AAU, and as others have pointed out, surging players excelled in AAU ball last summer.

.-.
Ariel Atkins (TX) jumps from 5 to 3, switching places with Brianna Turner (ND)
Chartrice White (IL) moves from 21 to 15
Mariya Moore (Lou) 31 to 16
Middleton (TN) 30 to 22
Paris Kea (Van) 77 to 24 !
Cohen (-) ~150 to 30!
Dunbar (TN) 81 to 43
Romeo (NE) 67 to 45
McMorris (-) 69 to 48
Robeson (-) NR to 69

Alexa Hart (OhSt) slipped from 15 to 21
Ekmark (UConn) 16 to 26
Belton (Duke) 20 to 34
Johnson (ND) 25 to 36
Freeman (Lou) 29 to 50
Stephens (Duke) 28 to 57
D Jones (-) 43 to 76
Moore (Pur) 48 to 87
Johnson (Clem) 51 to 115
Griffey (AZ) 56 to 101

Just using A'ja's & Brianna's play for USA BB. I'd have to rank A'ja over Brianna. A'ja's younger, similar in size to Brianna yet their stats don't compare. Link

Exactly. Sadie Edwards didn't play much AAU ball this summer (ankle/foot injury I think) yet she didn't move. She happens to be a client of PN.

Ekmark did play AAU ball, mostly at west coast events.

As we're learning, there are multiple factors that go in to these ratings and some don't involve what takes place on the court.

I guess I'll have to ask - how many active Girls High School Basketball ranking services are there these days?

.-.
Doesnt Ekmark sitting out senior season and Gabby's injury affect their ranking? Look what happened when Morgan tore her ACL. Just saying...

It's all relative really. If they kids don't play AAU ball, or aren't seen, their rating can still stay high (it seems) if their "reputation" warrants it. But it also seems that the ranking services totally favor kids who play in their AAU events, or play for teams "sponsored" by them. To me it warps the truth and objectivity of the rankings.

Then again, it's been that way for a while. IIRC Bird spurned the opportunity to play for Mike Flynn (or played for a team not sponsored by Blue Star) and while most objective folks felt she was a top 5 kid, her ranking ended up around 20. We all know how she worked out...

Since no one responded to you yet, I'll answer. There are basically 4 services that provide rankings for free:

1. Blue Star: They provide free rankings but not much else unless you subscribe, and subscriptions are geared for college coaches (cheapest is over $300).

2. Prospects Nation: They were the guys who ran Hoopgurlz for ESPN. They provide free rankings and almost half their 'stories' are free. For a reasonable price, you get more recruiting information.

3. Full Court: They provide free rankings and some stories.

4. All Star Girls Report: They provide free rankings occasionally, but for updated rankings, you need a subscription.

Hoopsgurlz is pretty much inactive, expect for some player profiles that are more human interest stories than player analysis.
