"The only I'm executing is that of a coach on the other sideline who left us in the middle of the night. He needs to pay."

Grudge match. Everyone's pumped for this one and it shows. Surprisingly, after this last game, UCONN starts pounding the run right away. The big guys up front make some nice lanes and the beneficiaries are McCombs and McCummings. They combine for 150 on the ground. That gives Chandler plenty to work with in the passing game and he's a solid 18-29, 225 and his first two TD passes as a Husky. He throws two picks, but it doesn't matter.

It doesn't matter because the defense continues playing out of their mind. Wirth, Williams and Smallwood continue right where they left off. Maryland caughs it up 4 times (2 Ints and 2 fumbles).

Pretty sure Nick takes a punt of kick-off the distance.

31-10 Huskies. That's right, the offense puts some meaningul points on the board at the site of their fomer coach's "dream job".

Essentially take a touchdown off of each team's score in your prediction. There are going to be a lot of people thinking about a certain plane ride that had a certain vacant seat on the way home from the Fiesta Bowl. There are going to be a lot of people that are getting themselves ready to help ruin a "dream job." Here we go, Dog Pound, here we go!!

On that theory, I'm going with 16-13 UConn. They won't fix the offensive troubles in a week, but we can get 9 points on FG to go with a McCombs TD.

No way Maryland scores more than 7 against our D. I'm thinking 24-7 sounds about right which should cause some heartburn in College Park. It's a shame they've already matched their 2011 win total though.

13-10 Uconn. Maryland D is first rate. Probably both teams TD's come from Defense.

A 0-0 tie. Why cloud a defensive masterpiece with OT, just end it. Two Randy Edsall offenses going at it in the futal attempt to score a TD against a big time defensive team. At least that a better case than prediction #2. UConn goes 0-2 against the ACC and then settles back in to mid tier OOC's and the much maligned BE Conference (winning against mid to lower tiered teams and losing to the conference powers). This is a huge game for UConn. This one carries more weight than any of the remaining games. Either we are capable of playing in this conference (the ACC is we ever got an invite) or we're still not ready and maybe we should be worried about UMass getting the jump on us.

I think we win. But by how much, and how pretty it is, I haven't either a clue or any confidence whatsoever.

I do predict that, by the end of the game, Edsall will be happy as heck he played Trevardo Williams as a back up as a true frosh, because the thought of having to play him against next year, at the rate he improves week to week, is frightening.
