When I’m being being a reasonable grownup, I agree with you 100%. It was the right thing for her and her development to move on to the WNBA. It’s when I’m being a greedy fan that I imagine her and Sarah Strong playing alongside each other and think about what might have been. ;)
I can appreciate that. :)

You know it's strange. Stewie started this league (w/Phee) but she's not had much success playing in it.

On a side note: Just about all the players were gassed after their games.
I think they'll start realizing that they need to treat this more like tennis and take a breather between possessions. I bet slowing down and taking a breath between possessions will become more of the norm, though I do think it should be up to the player on offense to decide when to start the next possession because they could use their conditioning to their advantage.

I also wonder if they need to institute mandatory breaks at specific intervals (like a minute break at the 5 minute mark or 30 second breaks at the 4 and 8 minute marks).

Hey gang - there might be another pick 'em for the semis and finals. Too much going on with the 2nd and 3rd rounds being played on the same day to do a poll, as it would have been a bit crazy. Stay tuned.

Here are the standings of the 8 games played. Six were injury walkovers, one of them a double (Mabrey & Martin).

6 - @JellyBean , @Stagnant
5 - @Bigboote, BRS24, @GoUconn7961, @WeCocky
4 - @ConnMotors, @GamecockFam, @Jonathan14, @Rb335, @Zanzman
3 - @From France

A special shoutout to @Zanzman for picking the Aaliyah Edwards over Breanna Stewart "upset".

If you have time, feel free to PM me your picks for 2nd and 3rd round, and I'll add to the tally. As mentioned in the prior post, there are too many combos for me to do a form for the next two rounds, and I'm trying to set a middle school soccer lineup for a game this evening, and oh so much mama llama drama. :D

I'll do a semis/finals poll after tonight's results.

Interesting that most of the younger players are taking these games. Talent is secondary to stamina here so I guess that makes sense. Unless you are in phenomenal shape it's tough for a 30 year old to beat a 22 year old one on one. As is evident this is an exhausting activity.

Aaliyah's post game interview was something. Her response to the interviewer's question about only being in the league for a year had me chuckling. She's got a little chip on her shoulder and I love it.

The semis on Friday:

Phee v. Azura

Arike v. Liya

I think Phee will win. But Liya has spin moves and incredible strength. I had forgotten how good she is.
Three UConn alumnae and Arike, who I am finally starting to forgive for her UConn-beating buzzer beater…I’m picking Phee and Liya for the finals, and though my brain tells me Phee’s going to win it all, my heart’s pulling for the rookie.
