Dorka looked great out there tonight. So glad to see. She didn't just make shots they were confident swish shots even from 3. Something our bigs just didn't have in their game last year. Dorka might be able to change that this year.

Overall though, everyone always looks good in a game like this right? The real question is who looks good against a team like Texas. I remain convinced that the core of Dorka, AE, Azzi, Lou and Caroline is the key. With Ayanna and Nika getting the bulk of the sub PT. That core is going to be able to score with any team.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ayanna earns equal PT with AE and Dorka. That rebounding and hustle would really help this team of perimeter shooters and back door specialists.

Ayanna had a little difficulty putting the ball in the hoop but she got almost every loose ball and rebound.

What’s up with Amari? This is suppose to be the year she takes a big leap?

She was too deep for a lot of those. A little bit of experience will tell her she’s better off kicking that out.

Even though it was just an exhibition, it was very disappointing regarding Amari. It doesn’t make any sense to me why she seems to be struggling to find her role in the system. All the skills are there—similar shooting range to Dorka, similar size/length. She seemingly even has some of the vision that made ONO such a terrific post passer. All the pieces are there for her to be successful but it’s not coming together for some reason. Someone else mentioned her energy and effort just doesn’t seem to be at the same level as the rest of the team and I suspect that’s part of the struggle in practice that Geno has mentioned in the past.Seems like a great kid but it’s this year or never to start making meaningful contributions.

Didn't see the game, but just looking at minutes, it's striking that everyone played at least 20 minutes except two players, one of them Amari with 10.

Obviously it's nice to see multiple players putting up 17+ points. And I'm loving the 11 assists from Nika. She actually wasn't far from a triple-double.

Who said this is suppose to be the year she takes a big leap? Has Geno said that?

Whose minutes would be reduced so Amari could have more? Even against Kutztown State and Caroline not playing, Amari only had 10. If Ice hadn't gotten injured Amari would get very little PT. When Geno decided to put her in the game today that was a pretty good indicator of his assessment.

If it was expected for incoming freshmen to play more than a sophomore who knows the system at this point , thats not a great sign for that players future.

Kinda interesting that Kutztown took 3 FTs in the 1st quarter and 0 in the last 3 quarters. I would say that was a great defensive effort.

Love it when there is so much balanced scoring. I just love the whole "Strength in Numbers" mindset and in this game, given it was an exhibition game against a DII school, it just makes your team that dangerous. Also, points in the paint. 50! Nice

It wasn't long ago when Geno lamented that there was no one on the team that could shoot or score. Wow has that seemed to have changed!

Watching the game on YouTube after attending, I took a closer look at Amari. She did look slow, but only took one shot. What I did notice is that she seemed to take on the ONO passing part of the game. Multiple hand-offs and passing from the top of the key. That seemed to be her priority, so maybe that was the direction from Geno. Maybe that is what Geno wants her role to be, a facilitator from the high post. So, I'm not giving up on her as yet, and am willing to give her some more time to prove her worth to this team.

For what it’s worth, Amari has a very chill low-key demeanor which I think cuts against the impression she leaves on the court to fans, at least. She reminds me of Jeremy Lamb in that who used to play on the men’s side. You’d watch the game and think he really haven’t done much, but he would end up with 15+ points. I am not saying they are the same player, Jeremy Lamb was a national champion at Connecticut and went onto an NBA career, but I do think that low-key vibe does hurt the impression Amari leaves, at least with fans.

... and a product of the officials just not calling fouls.
