Underrated 2015 WNBA Draft Class

For a while it looked like a pretty abysmal class with Loyd being the main standout....they're really starting to come into their own this year. Look at some of the standouts:

1. Jewell Loyd: 14 ppg, 42% FG, 41% 3pt
2. Amanda Zahui B: 10.7 ppg, 8.2 rpg
4. Elizabeth Williams: 10.6 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 53% FG
5. Cheyenne Parker: 12.9 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 52% FG
6. Dearica Hamby: 12.2 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 55% FG
17. Betnijah Laney: 16.8 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 4.5 apg, 49% FG, 40% 3pt

Not to mention Natasha Cloud who was the starting PG on the WNBA Champions last year after being a 2nd round draft pick. Pretty solid year for a lot of players, especially Laney who seemingly came out of nowhere to become one of the better players in the league.

Warms my heart to see a couple Philly area kids Betnijah Laney and Natasha Cloud doing so well. It's always big hugs and kisses every time I see them. I remember Tasha playing JV CYO basketball and playing in the CYO all star game at the Palestra. Tasha went to O'hara and it took me a while to forgive her . I also remember when Betnijah was in the gym with her mother and interested in anything besides basketball. BTW if anyone ever doubted what being in peak conditioning can do for your game please go check out Amanda and Betnijah today.

Philly area includes parts of Delaware, parts of Jersey, and the burbs -the good players at least. EDD, Betnijah, Mike Trout, Carli Lloyd, Carl Lewis, Caroline Doty, Crystal Langhorne, Meghan Patterson-Culmo.

It is cool seeing a lot of prominent players from UCONN/Notre Dame either team up or play head to head. The other day felt like a recent UCONN/ND game with Collier/Dangerfield leading the battle vs. Arike/Mabrey, plus KLS came off the bench.
