There goes the smell of fresh clean air in CT. Before legalization, I already couldn't go to Waterbury, Hartford or Naugatuck without smelling weed. Now the whole state will be that way. Not a weed guy myself, but don't care what others do as long as they don't hurt people (or take away my fresh air). Go with edibles and THC infused wine, not smokeable. Smoking of any type is bad for your lungs.

Drinking is bad for your liver. You got used to the drunkards at sporting events, as you will the smells. Thankfully there's a whole planet of air for ya.

If CT did it the way MA did, public smoking is still not permitted.

Last night, sampled an about two-year old Theory Wellness indica bud that's been sealed in my basement. Still smelled relatively fresh. First toke in about 22 months, just one hit, cooked a nice pozole and watched the Isles/Lightning game.

For me, it's more of a question of will a positive test for marijuana still matter if I get random drug testing for my coaching bus license. I like highs that are similar to drinking a good red wine. I just have a weak tolerance to booze and only clock in at 160, so can't handle alcohol like how I did back in my HS/early college days. Weed every once in a while is nice as it doesn't negatively affect the next day.

About the law, I do find it odd that recreational weed won't be for sale until late 2022. The state has to capitalize on the income and curious why it'll take so long to be available.

The bill explicitly bans smoking marijuana in state parks and on state waterways, and it expands smoking prohibitions of all kinds by prohibiting smoking at workplaces, including within 25 feet of an entrance. It also bars hotels from offering smoking rooms.

But every community with a population of 50,000 or more must designate at least one public space for cannabis consumption.

While I don’t necessarily agree with your sentiment it always makes me laugh when I get slapped with weed smell out at a park or on a trail or something because I know the people smoking are like “we’re outside it’s fine, no one can smell it”

sooooooo,
the ice melted way back, there was some kind of 'big flood', and we rapidly moved our game up from monkey times, including a greater tendency to not wander around so much, since we now had bread and cheeseburgers in the back yard. at ground zero of the transformation, the head of the persian gulf, a quite lovely garden popped up, folks there decided to shelter in place, and them yogurt chomping sumerians said 'let's do this! put some dang clothes on, as we don't need to see ur junk everday. just chillax, and have a bowl instead of running around like a nut chasing wild animals or looking for kale.'
'Hebrew קַנַּבּוֹס (qannabbôs) from קְנֵה בֹּשֶׂם (qěnēh bośem) may derive from Sumerian kunibu,' and 'Leading authorities on the etymology of both the German and Russian languages list a Sumerian cognate.' wiki.

fast forward a bunch of millenia later, when folks really started to write stuff down, as ol Herodotus noted in his (c. 440 BCE) Histories, "The Scythians, as I said, take some of this hemp-seed [presumably, flowers], and, creeping under the felt coverings, throw it upon the red-hot stones; immediately it smokes, and gives out such a vapour as no Greek vapour-bath can exceed; the Scyths, delighted, shout for joy.' party on, wayne. Classical Greeks and Romans also used cannabis.

finally, millenia later, ol carl linnaeus slapped a label on it. He considered the genus to be monotypic, having just a single species that he named Cannabis sativa. tru dat, cuz many genetic researchers today still conclude that 'analyses confirm the continuity of the Cannabis gene pool throughout the studied accessions, and provide further confirmation that the genus consists of a single species.'

too much thc, from newfangled lab concoctions where the naturally-occurring percentages were say, 8-15, and now boosted up to 30%, is bad, 'fry ur brain' bad. as a comestible, there is minimal historical evidence, other than old school breakfast gruel (seed), largely consumed by the poor. a bowl of that now 'super food,' when the next meal coming was unknown, made a lot of sense. on the udder hand, those hash eaters
'Assassin, Hashishin, meaning hashish eaters ...
'a member of the Nizari branch of Ismaili Muslims at the time of the Crusades, when the newly established sect ruled part of northern Persia (1094–1256). They were renowned as militant fanatics, and were popularly reputed to use hashish before going on murder missions,' were nuts. cf, 1938's 'reefer madness' and 'assassin of youth' flix.

plain vanilla smoked cannabis been around a long, long time. many, like me, see no evidence of it being carcinogenic.
'Results from our pooled analyses provide little evidence for an increased risk of lung cancer among habitual or long-term cannabis smokers, although the possibility of potential adverse effect for heavy consumption cannot be excluded.'
Cannabis smoking and lung cancer risk: Pooled analysis in the International Lung Cancer Consortium - Zhang - 2015 - International Journal of Cancer - Wiley Online Library
in fact, i expect, eventually, the research to demonstrate quite the opposite, that it acts as a pulmonary anti-bacterial, anti-viral therapy, but i won't be holding my breath until then, cuz like these current legalizations, everything takes forever, including a long-overdue treatise on 'smoked cannabis and it's effect on covid lung infection.'
if nothing else, and u've got some physical injury healing to do, it can make you sleep a bit more, as well as get u to eat. hmmm, rest and nutrition to heal what ails you?
imagine that.
treat all the modern hype nonsense warily. as always, moderation.
rest in peace, Clifford. you were The Big Dog.

the smell of lilacs, especially the dying ones, as well as cilantro, can almost make me retch. genetics, i suppose. will you sign my petition to ban them from all public places?
but wait, there's more!
'In 1607, "hempe" was among the crops Gabriel Archer observed being cultivated by the natives at the main Powhatan village, where Richmond, Virginia is now situated; and in 1613, Samuell Argall reported wild hemp "better than that in England" growing along the shores of the upper Potomac. As early as 1619, the first Virginia House of Burgesses passed an Act requiring all planters in Virginia to sow "both English and Indian" hemp on their plantations.' wiki.
well, that was fast. only took 400 years to get back to the future.

There hasnt been a hotel thats offered a smoking room in over 20 years. Pretty much all over the country and no doubt, CT. There are probably a few southern bastions that have that option, still. But good luck.

caesars and borgata in ac, today, for a start. i highly rec either as a place to stay.
outstanding. Connecticut is currently juggling the whole 'smoking at the casino' thing. permanent casino floor smoking bans across the nation? prognosis, negative. sumthin, sumthin, cash moneh bitness, sumthin, sumthin. on the udder hand, i expect a continued ban against smoking high altitude oaxacan on a casino floor, cuz, well, that would be weirdorama. slot machine grannies wilding at the johnny rockets and all that. not pretty.
u know the rules; don't like it? don't go there.
