Briyona Canty went down with a "knee" injury in today's game. Looking for links
That's too bad, I hate to hear that for Xylina. She played for my 2nd high school (last 2 years) and her dad, Xavier, played for my 1st high school (1st 2 years). This is all I can find so far on McDaniel. Torn calf muscle! Ouch! Hate it for her.

UCONN would be such a good fit for the ACC; I wonder why they haven't been invited?Tough break for the Heels..... they might end up sliding to 6th place in the ACC behind ND, Duke, Louisville, FSU, and Syracuse. They are gonna get bashed on the interior

I agree. A perfect fit.UCONN would be such a good fit for the ACC; I wonder why they haven't been invited?
That wasn't the reason five years ago when Edsal was still at UCONN.One word - FOOTBALL
Actually it might have been, only back then UConn football was too good for a conference that hadn't won a major bowl game in years and was filled with a lot old broken down scandal ridden football programs (and this was before the UNC news broke out much), and schools like Wake Forest who have little to promote in any sport do not want another northern powerhouse coming in and driving them further into obscurity. The Demon Deacons were actually a field hockey power like UConn at one time coming off 3 straight NCs a decade ago, but now even that prominence is long gone. But yes, the ACC does have a reigning football champion and its in-the-news quarterback. As long as the FSU situation doesn't implode in a scandal and they still have the revered BCU-Clemson Battle for the Leather Helmet plus continuing lacrosse and soccer success, the ACC can still feel respectable, but the UConn basketball teams have won 5 NCs since the last time an ACC team won a title. (Cue the "Only the brain-concussed punch-your-partner sport matters" recitations from the usual suspects.)That wasn't the reason five years ago when Edsal was still at UCONN.
God - I hate to see this stuff!!! I was thinking Rutgers could be a FF contender this year. She would have to be a big part of that. Good Luck! Can't believe I'm rooting for Rutgers the past few years? Never sat Never!Praying that it isn't an ACL for Canty. No news as of yet.

And regardingMcDaniel- she's an awesome player and they seamed to be gelling. Hate when these kids go down.
Great news indeed. She's a gamer and is needed if RU wants to make noise in March/April. Bone bruises can take several weeks to heal though, especially if they are deep. Hope she gets all the rest she needs!Official word:
"Redshirt junior guard Briyona Canty played only five minutes in Sunday's game with Indiana after suffering a knee injury. Canty has been diagnosed with a bone bruise in her right knee and is listed as week-to-week. It is not the same knee that caused Canty to play only seven games in 2012-13 due to a microfracture."
I'm SO relieved to hear this!
