If the NCAA really wanted to send a message, they'd suspend Boeheim indefinitely, and only allow him to be reinstated after he sleeps with Laurie Fine.

The NCAA needs to survive as an organization, as phony as it is. No organization can remain relevant if it destroys all of its members over corruption charges, especially if the corruption element is what is keeping these team interesting and profitable. So, the NCAA has to develop a strategy that maintains the illusion of college amateurism while being a money generating business.
So, suspend these two anchor programs just enough to maintain the image of college athletic
purity while keeping the fan bases loyal. I like NCAA basketball and love booing Cuse and NC so punish them just enough to hurt but keep them on the court as a major program. Think of it like a movie. If the dragon is slain in the first scene, why bother to stay for the rest of it. No, the dragon needs to be alive and well right to the first weekend in April
