The series is for 2026 and 2027. UConn has a full schedule for 2026 (12 games) so the years don't work out.

But the NCAA allows teams that travel to Hawaii to play 13 games. It's actuallly referred to as the Hawaii Rule or the Hawaii Exemption. We could have gone there in 2026 and have them at the Rent in 2027. We currently only have 10 games scheduled for 2027, one of which is Army, which may not happen now that they are joining the AAC.

As an independent, we will never play Hawaii to play a 13th game.

If you play @Hawaii, traditionally you can play a 13th game.
And if you play a 13th game you need 7 wins to be bowl eligible unless there aren’t enough 6 win teams.

note the same exemption counts for Alaska but obviously since Alaska isn't D1 it doesn't come up in popular circles.
