Temple will average 28,000 this year. They had over 30,000 for Villanova and I'll bet the upgraded schedule and performance will start to pay some dividends. We'll see. UMass would be better off playing all games on the road and quickly enlarge Amherst to 25,000. Who the heck wants to travel 2 hours to see a bad team with a weak home schedule.

They should absolutely get back to Amherst as soon as possible. This Gillette venture has no hope. They might have had a good crowd vs New Hampshire. But how many of those fans were UNH fans?

Yet another example of the ineptitude the NCAA displays in their Mr. Magoo style oversight of college athletics.
Any post that invokes the image of Mr. Magoo in reference to the NCAA is good stuff.

I live in the Boston area and there is zero buzz about the Indiana game. In eastern Massachusetts, people hardly know that UMass even exists. State politicians don't support UMass. There is no comparison between the support for UConn in Connecticut and the support for UMass in Massachusetts. NONE!

The UMass football experiment at Gillette Stadium is going to fail. (2,200 season ticket holders!) Storrs, CT is closer to Foxboro than Amherst!

Anyone who thinks UMass would ever be a good addition to the Big East has no clue.
