you're not serious, are you? lamb, jones, teague, and gilchrist are all future pro's and miller hits every big shot.
I think he's right to suggest that this team is not nearly as special without Davis.

Take last year's team, subtract their really good PG and replace him with a decent one. Take out Liggins and some others. They're still a good team, but certainly not a 1 seed. Davis makes everyone that much better--which is a testament to him, and, frankly, Calipari for letting him be him.

I hope they lose ASAP.

You could do the same for the national champions last year, although you'd need a better adjective than "really good".

why is there a two page thread about an ongoing game instead of joining the chat room - so much more interactive. Join the one at the top of the page next to the Forums link button.

I have to watch most of the games via March Madness Live, and I can't stand the sound effects.

Pretty amazing how fast Kentucky turned this into a blowout

ISU needs to hit threes. There was one possession, down 9, where they had two wide open 3s, and missed them both. Then they missed a shot in the lane. And then there was a 3-second violation.

You can't have that sort of thing. UK is impressive. I still think UConn matched up better with them than ISU.

Eh. That's like saying "without Magic Johnson those 80s Lakers were nothing special."

It may be true, but it's irrelevant unless we can move into some alternate reality where we hav a choice of where we play.

you're not serious, are you? lamb, jones, teague, and gilchrist are all future pro's and miller hits every big shot.

without davis this team is still top 5 this year. but with davis this year all the talk is how "special" they are. they are clearly above everyone else. yes all of the pieces are nba pros but without davis on this team u have to think about it. they look like a tosu or kanasa with jones being not as good as sullinger or robinson but with a sf/sg thats better than those schools have.

lamb is not the best 2g around. teague isn't the best pg around for sure. gilcrest isn't the best sf around right now but the potential is there for him to be big time in the nba. but right now these guys are great college players but other teams have those types also.

davis is the best big guy in cb this year. thats a game changer.

instead of cuse not having fabmelo, take davis away from uk and think about the way uk plays and how that would effect them. the guy makes that team special, without him they are a great team but not elite liek they are right now.

Defensively, Davis is dominant. No question. Offensively I think you are really selling those other guys short. Jones and Gilchrist are big time players, Lamb and Miller are assassins. Obviously Davis is a ridiculous player but those other guys are really, really good in their own right.

They're very good. But they're a lot more open with a dominant big man than without.

I really like Kidd-Gilchrist as a player. I look at last year's UK team with Jorts as the model. Replace Davis with 2011 Jorts and UK is very good, very capable of winning the whole thing, but not dominant.

when those guys on are o, they get to shoot away and davis gets boards and tips alot with his lenght-2nd tries. they also get to drive with the d not doubling or collasping as much becuase they are worried about a lob and the second they do then its incredibly easy to lob becuase they kid is taller and lenghty, more so than the rest of cb. thats why a drummond-davis matchup would have been interesting. while drummond on o is clearly years away, on d his size/weight would be a problem for davis who has had his way with sec guys. alal indiana game with zeller to a degree.

It's kind of annoying that ISU was making such random shots against UConn but can barely make an open shot against UK. Sadly this game has played out exactly as I expected.

I'm not saying UConn would have beaten UK, but I think it would have been a closer game, oh well, that's the ups and downs of a "one-and-done" tournament.

Edit: it helps a lot that ISU had to play defense against all 5 UK players, where against UConn 2-3 players don't even really need to be defended. UConn really needs Roscoe/Daniels/Giffey and AO/AD/TO to find some semblance of an offensive game. I liked Roscoe's three at the start of yesterdays game, but then he just disappeared.

Anyone else think they'll beat Indiana by 30?
