Our ISU loss is not so bad after all. uk with revenge on their mind probably would have destroyed us, and humiliated our team. Its a game I'm kinda glad we didn't play. Sure anything is possible but our team is too familiar with losing. They are like that 1999 dook team, unfortunately we are not like the 99 UConn team.

Anyway, I am looking for that 99 UConn team in the tourney and I know they are out there. We can hate coach cal all we want but he's got something down there. My hope is that Louisville emerges as the best team in that state.

yesterday was the first full UK game I've seen and I was pretty floored. Yes, they didn't miss so it's a little misleading but I love the way they play. Everyone touches the ball, everyone is a threat, everyone's strengths are utilized. They obviously have tons of talent, but i have to give the squid credit for putting a team together of high ego kids and have them play together and so cohesively. They look like they are having a lot of fun playing together and they are all sacrificing their own stats for the team concept. I wish UConn had that look and selflessness.

I wish UConn had Anthony Davis--or that Drummond had some basketball moves in his repertoire. That sort of player opens everything up and makes everyone happy. Kid is a great college player and when he finally grows into his frame will be a very good pro.

You change the name on the jersey from Kentucky to anything but Duke/UNC and I really like this team and wouldn't mind them being champions. Oh well.

UK looked great last night, and ISU had serious match-up problems at every position on both ends of the court

very young teams are very unreliable chalk

Allen was unbelievable against us, not so good last night. Others threw in running shots vs us, not so many last night. Yeah defense is part of it but so is the "night itself." We got Iowa States best and then a bunch of them played like normal last night and that's why they lost 10 games. We would've been hammered too last night vs the Wildcats because they're better......they threw a couple early punches at Iowa St and to the Cylclones credit they stood up and played for 25 minutes or so........not even sure we would've done that quite honestly. That UK team will win it all but they don't shoot it like that all the time so who knows......Gilchrist only had a hoop I think? Yikes........hope they get beat but there's no denying they're damn good no matter how he gets the kids there!! AD is a stud....handles it a little outside setting things up, shoots it good, is a huge presence underneath. Must admit I have no idea how Andre could've ever outplyed this kid in a game, never!!!

We handed ISU confidence with our awful defense in the first few minutes. We let them do anything they wanted. After that they were loose and happy and very good. Letting them go uncontested to the basket on the first two possession let them feel good about themselves.

I said that right away..........agree wholeheartedly.......Royce just ho-hummed his way down the middle when Andre went out to guard him from 30 feet for wahtever reason and then Roscoe and Alex parted the seas for him rather than letting him know NOTHING was going to be easy (we did that all year...watched games yesterday where teams took heads off on drivers with free run and thats the way it should be with our bigs and never was).....then a hedge by Andre and a slow return to his guy who was already laying it in for yet another easy duece and TO by JC because he was already sick to his stomach.....that was the sign of things to come and certainly put their minds at ease on the offensive end....

I believe that ISU spent its time and emotional currency preparing for UConn and were just happy to make it to the Kentucky game. For the Cats, OTOH, this was there first real game and they had a week to get psyched for it. That's not taking anything away from Kentucky, because they are really talented, and played their A-game. ISU did not.

I disagree. Iowa State's performance had to do with who they were playing. Iowa St. was ready to play for both games. Kentucky was just much better defensively and offensively than UConn. ISU didn't play their A game because UK wouldn't let them, UConn did. They beat UConn fairly easily. I don't think it took much out of them.

We made the mistake of allowing ISU to heat up from three point range. If we contested a few of those shots a bit better early on, they likely would have been a bit hesitant even if they were open later on.
