A local recruiting guy out here in Chicago feels Illinois is in great shape for XRM. Feels he might commit to them soon. XRM has a visit scheduled to us sept 27th-29th.

Can you imagine if say Scott Burrell had a kid that was UConn quality and he was looking at two other schools this late in the game?

FSU has to be feeling the most anxiety about this recruitment. UConn and Illinois are putting on the full press. This likely goes until Oct. 13.

JMO but XRM seems to be truly up in the air between the three schools.

Us as in Uconn?

This recruitment is gonna come down to the wire, don't believe anything otherwise. Everyone's even at the moment.

Seems like all three schools (or at least fan bases) think they're getting him. The good news for us is we have the last visit. Just need to hope he hasn't already made up his mind by the time he gets to campus.

How impressive would it be for XRM to show up for his official visit and have Ray Allen, RIP, Ben Gordon, Rudy Gay, Caron Butler, Emeka Okafor and Jim Calhoun there to meet him? That might sway a recruit with NBA dreams a bit? What can Florida State and Illinois put up to compete with that? If the former players really want to help Kevin Ollie and UCONN that would be a great way to do it.

It's a no brainer. Uconn you go pro. Other two places you go nowhere. Not sure what the decision is here
I hope recruits think the way you do. The question is, how much do recruits equate UConn with Jim Calhoun. Until KO, or whoever the long term coach ends up to be, starts sending players into the NBA, who knows how recruits will view UConn compared to other programs. The watered down BE is not helping our cause either.

I think we'll be fine, but it might take time to earn consumer confidence.
