I think the one thing these rankings really don't take into account is the McNeeley injury factor. That's something the committee will have to figure out. I agree on Kansas, poster child this year for being ranked way too high in the metrics.
Will very much depend on how we look with over remainder - if there is a material wow happening, then I can very much see them factoring it.

Will be good to have him back, already feel like I’ve been shorted the LM experience.

At this point, the best outcome in terms of seeding would be for UConn to go into the tourney feeling completely disrespected by the selection committee!

Give us an 8 seed and a matchup with Duke in the field of 32. Put 2 on Flagg and go wild. We'll have a game against the 12th seed then in the S16.

Isn't the KenPom NetRtg just the difference between the current season's Adjusted Offensive Efficiency (in Pts per 100 possessions) and the Adjusted Defensive Efficiency (same measure)?

At the start, there's some magic carry-over formula from the last season he uses, but now it should be 24-25 data.

It adjusts for strength of opponent, but to my knowledge there's no "soft" data at all in the formula (how did a team "look" during a win or loss, were they playing on soft rims, is one of their guys shooting 50% from 3 in 2025, etc., etc.). I'm not sure there's even an adjustment for injuries. But I don't subscribe to KenPom, so just correct me if I'm wrong.

If you start scoring lots of points and holding other teams to low Pts/100 possessions, your NetRtg goes up and you go up in KenPom rankings.

It's why Gonzaga is ranked 11th currently when they have no good reason to be ranked that high. They pulverize the crap teams of the WCC which prettys-up their KenPom even though it adjusts for "SOS". I made a post about it in a different KenPom thread a week or so ago.

Seems like it's hard to know whether SOS is hurting us or not, but I will note all the cupcakes we played are terrible.

Look at their records: 9-12, 4-19, 7-16, 3-19, 4-17

Here we are again, at the mercy of "How is New Hampshire doing?" If only we had played UMass-Lowell and their tremendous 15-8 record!!! What's that you say? They are a much better team than UNH? Maybe, but they just lost to them!

I know some rankings don't really fuss over Tier 4 wins and they don't really impact the SOS, but Im sure some take it into consideration.

And before anyone says we should schedule better cupcakes, please realize we have played all the winning record Am East teams in recent years, with games against UMass Lowell, Maine, Bryant, Vermont.

We haven't played Vermont in over a decade. Haven't played them with Becker as their coach at all. Put another way, Vermont has won 15 conference trophies since we played them last. We played Bryant last over a decade ago as well.

I don't think there is much upside to playing Vermont. But yeah it has been a bit.
