So we know Geno has no choice but to go small ball. That means playing guards galore. If you count our guards as Nika, Paige, Ash, KK, Q, and Ines, they played a total of 143 minutes today.
  • 57 points
  • 65% from the field
  • 69% from 3
  • 23 assists
  • 5 steals
  • 20 rebounds
  • 2 total turnovers
23 assists and 2 turnovers. That's an 11.5-1 Assist/TO ratio. Pretty insane stats, but exactly what the guards NEED to do if we are going to be a guard oriented team. The most points SJU had allowed before today was 74, to Monmouth of all teams. It's the only game before today where anyone scored more than 70 on them. Our entire corps of guards was outstanding today. Ice and Aaliyah were no slouches either!! But... guards baby!

The way Ice and Aaliyah try to dribble in the post sometime, they might consider themselves guards as well…. Ice did have 6 turnovers today

I have not watched the game yet but for the guards to play that many minutes and only committed two turnovers, very impressive. Guard play is huge especially when it comes to post season play.
