Yeah, I was thinking the same thing as I was watching the
finish of that game.

Poor guys will probably be thrilled to get killed.

If the committee places teams properly according to its stated principles it will be St. Francis. They will be the only team in the tournament with a losing record, and geographically close, playing the overall #1 seed, UConn.

St. Francis of Brooklyn, NY.
Would be nice, but the committee does not usually take geography into consideration for the #16 seeds. Last year UConn got Prairie View because they were the lowest rated team in the Tourney, and it will probably be the same this year. Though Creme's Bracketology has not been updated as I type, he currently has UConn playing Alabama State, who on every rating index is the worst rated team in the Tourney.

I think I'd rather Alabama St. Further away, more unusual.

Only problem is that the Lady Hornets are from that SWAC conference where the top two teams -- Texas Southern and plain Southern -- got into that huge brawl that resulted in TS terminating its season and Southern was weirdly ineligible for NCAA tourney qualification because of APR issues but still got to play on to lose in the SWAC finals.

But if any of the Texas Southern-Southern fighting spirit rubbed off on Alabama State, the Huskies could be in trouble.

I will make a bold statement. UConn will win every game by as many points as they want to. UConn should win every game by 20+ in the tournament unless Geno calls off the dogs, or their are injuries or UConn gets in foul trouble and they dont get in foul trouble.

The hornets would definitely have a better pep band

Rutgers as a possible second round opponent is a decent team.

USF in our bracket? Really? I think they will really challenge Louisville.

Kentucky? No chance. Sorry.

All in all I think the brackets broke well for the Huskies. The Huskies get to stay home until the FF. PLUS, ND and USC are on the same side of the bracket meaning the Huskies will have to play only one of them in the FF.

IMHO , the brackets broke well for the Huskies.

Committee did the right thing for St.Franny-Brooklyn by keeping things close, and that's nice. UConn played the PA version of SF in 1999 and 2002 and the scores were 97-41 and 86-37. Probably something similar this year, but when you gotta end your season, good thing to do it against the best.

What is the mascot for St. Francis ? A Lamb ?

If the brklyn place is named for Francis of Assisi then look for mild bleating, yes. BUT the Catholic Church has 9
saints named Francis, notably Francis Xavier, a founder of the Jesuits.
