UConn's Big East Rival Will Be ............

Providence Avg. Weight = 206 lbs
UConn Avg Weight = 198 lbs

8 lbs...really? You think that’s the difference between a man and a pencil show? That quality Providence education speaking volumes let me tell ya.
Personally, I am enjoying the mild smack talk. Let them yap while they can. The lead dog is coming back.

I personally I think PC and UConn split next yr with PC winning at home 72-58...... Hurley and Cooley steal the headline.

Way too early Big East poll.

To bring some reality back to this smack talk, list your prediction 1 to 11.

Zissou, I wonder if Nova would ever play Uconn at the Pavilion?

Hard to say, we are scouring the portal for mid major talents. . Nova and Creighton atop and DePaul in the rear.

I hope not! The Pavilion sux.

Weekend games at Wells Fargo (Sixers/Flyers/Nova), and weekday games at the Pavilion. I’d think they will make an effort to play UConn on a weekend. Schedules aren’t always optimized though.

* UConn will pick up where is left off pre divorce. Great to have rivalries back again. Don;t underestimate how tough NBE is.
** Bey and JRE may not return next season.
*** Like him or not, Cooley's team seemingly always surprises.
**** Mike Anderson is the first real coach SJU has had in the last 3 hires. His team played well with short bench this season. Looks like Figurgua (sp?) may return, will add Posh Alexander and 3 other for longer bench.
***** Grumbling alums calling for Travis' job
****** Ewing last season ?

Wells Fargo and the Pavilion may be newer and shinier, but there no better place in Philly for basketball than The Palestra.
The Palestra >>>>>> the Pavilion

It’s a good mix to play a handful of games at Wells Fargo.

Maybe it's just me...but the Palestra looks past its time....a lot of tradition...but the facility itself..well....

I was at the Palestra in 1991 and it was past its time then! Has it been renovated since then?

Yes it has but not extensively. It still has its historic charm.

Like Fenway or the White House, the Palestra is a living relic. It isn’t appreciated for modern amenities, but for its feel and grit and history. Phog Allen fieldhouse, Cameron indoor, and Hinkle are other examples. Basketball shrines.

Full disclosure...

I am a bit (actually quite) biased. The Palestra was my home court in '66-'67.
