A little light on guards, this list. I guess it's not that sort of team.

I think you have to go with the best player on the best team. Boston is only averaging 25 minutes per game and averaging a double double.

But only 3rd in the Boneyard mvp voting.
This year, with all the injuries, and our best player out for the year, the player who stood out changed all the time, sometimes in the middle of the game. Everyone relies on each other, which was very different from last year; Paige has a tendency to do her own thing, a lot. I don't believe Aaliyah does all she has done without Dorka on the floor, Lou without Nika helping her. Lots of partnerships on the floor.

Agree with some of your post, but to me the MVP of any team is the best all-around player. Aaliyah was that player.

Surprised no one has mentioned Diamond Miller. Maryland has greatly overachieved this year and Miller has been the biggest reason why. She has stats, eye test and team success all going for her. She should be on this list too (along with Olivia Miles). I'd definitely drop Joens, though figuring else who to chop out of the top 11 is a tough call IMO.

Is that written somewhere?

I'd add Miller and drop Joens... Olivia has to wait another season. She'll get there.

If you go by which team would be impacted most by losing this player I would say it would come down to Iowa and UCONN. If you take out Edwards or Clark their teams as they were this season would have struggled to win half their games. Edwards was very impressive in the big games on offense while defending the other teams best player. Clark is just an incredible player that also has eye popping stats so I would say the people out there voting will go with her.

With that said the list of players up for the award is quite impressive and I would say at least half of them could win the award and there wouldn't be too much argument about it.

How much weight do you put on the team the potential POY plays for? In Iowa's case, they are 315th (2 years ago they were last) among 351 teams in opponent's points per game. Some people say they are "defensively challenged", I say they suck defensively. Iowa would be a far better team if CC averaged 6-8 points less per game and the team shaved off 10-12 opponent points per game. They will get beat by the first strong defensive team they play, probably the 3rd or 4th game.

What's more important a POY or a National Championship?
