UConn's 23-24 Non-Con Schedule

So we have homecoming games (or the closest equivalent) for Paige and Nika. What about Aaliyah?
St. Lawrence College in Kingston, Ontario has a WBB program. Small gym but it's big enough for all Aaliyah's family and friends. Throw in an SNY broadcast and it would be a cool venue.

They are likely trying to find a US D1 team willing to play one game in Canada and petition the NCAA for a waiver to make it happen. But with Uconn signing on for a Cayman Islands tourney, it looks a little less likely. Maybe they talk to schools on the shores of the great lakes? Buffalo?

Are there any slots left on the schedule? If not, they would have to get an already scheduled team to agree to a game in Canada. I believe they were able to do that for Kia Nurse, because one of our scheduled opponents had at least one Canadian player on the roster.

Still have 1 spot left I believe

Don't see how they play three games in the Caymans with a two day schedule? This isn't HS tournaments where morning and afternoon games are scheduled.

Good article that breaks down 23-24 non con schedule. They are looking to play in Canada for Aaliyah’s homecoming game

Home:
  • Ball State
  • Dayton
  • Louisville
  • Notre Dame
  • Maryland

Away:
  • Minnesota (12/19, PB homecoming game)
  • NC State
  • South Carolina
  • Texas

Neutral:
  • Cayman Island Classic (11/24-25, 2 games, not expected to play LSU or VT)
  • North Carolina (at Mohegan Sun)
  • AE homecoming game (TBD)

Big East being cut from 20 games to 18 and no Tennessee this season

Adamec's story on the schedule. No LSU or VTech in the Cayman Islands. Pitt was a potential opponent in Canada but maybe not now with the coaching change. Hopefully a better opponent. With talent coming out of Canada I'd think there would be teams looking for exposure north of the border.

No LadyVols! Yay. Renewed the series and UConn won all 4 games.

Aubrey gets one every time UConn plays at Seton Hall!
Since when is Jersey City, New Jersey near Ossining, New York?? (If you would have said Marist College, or Iona University, or even Fordham University, then I would say you were correct).

Very difficult schedule. I would hope Geno would ease up a bit after the injury/attrition disaster the last 2 years. And, to be frank, thats what it was - a disaster. I get it - Geno/UConn wants to be visible and schedule the best. But, this schedule benefits Geno/UConn's AD more than the players' well-being. Also, Geno should want his team peaking in March and not Dec./Jan. For the last 10 years or so, it's been the opposite.

It was tongue-in-cheek. Aubrey's best games in the UConn jersey have occurred playing at Seton Hall's gym. She treats it like her home court.

Playing Tennessee reminded me of when UConn men started playing UMass again. Nobody barely anyone cared. They stopped playing again, no clamor to resume.
