UConn / Zona H&H announced

The two best memories against Arizona are actually....
I liked when they played something called The Great 8 in Chicago, the season after the first title. Zona was loaded with Richard Jefferson, Gilbert Arenas and Luke Walton but UConn smoked 'em by 9 behind a dominant performance by Khalid El-Amin.

Is that the game Ed Saunders posterized Loren Woods?

Per his website, Andrea Bocelli concert in Hartford is Saturday December 13, not the 12th as someone previously stated. So Arizona (November 19) and Texas (December 12) games could be at either XL or Gampel.

If both are at Gampel that's even more of a snub to XL season ticket holders than this past season's schedule. Although there were some pretty damn exciting games at XL this past season.

If I had to guess Arizona is at Gampel and Texas is at XL. Arizona game would be two days before kids leave for Thanksgiving break and the Texas game is scheduled when exams end/kids go home for the winter.

I hope you enjoyed this past season because its the last time youre going to see a Hurley Uconn team lose 10+ games for a long time. In 23` and `24 Dan Hurley figured out what works, in `25 he found out what doesnt and wont be repeating the same mistakes. Mens cbb is so screwed for the next decade. Theyre going to get a heavy dose of Uconn winning lol!

Take my ‘like’ for the Menace II Society clip…

That was an exciting game, and a great finish for us for sure.

The two best memories against Arizona are actually:

2. That OT thriller in 2002 down in Arizona where we won 100-98. It was a real coming out party for both Emeka Okafor and Ben Gordon as freshman... Okafor was one block shy of a triple-double (19 points, 15 rebounds and 9 blocks) and Gordon led all scorers off the bench with 23 points, including 5 for 8 from 3-point territory. And he hit a couple of key ones, too.

1. Of course the Elite 8 2011 nailbiter in the Western Regional where we won 65-63 to advance to the Final 4 (and win our eventual 3rd National Championship), but only after two last play 3-point attempts, the first just missed by Derrick Williams (that guy was awesome in the tournament that year) and then off a scramble and kick out to a wide open 3 taken by Jamelle Horne that for all the world looked like it was going in... until it didn't. Kemba and Jeremy Lamb were just a little better... in that game, and throughout that entire tournament.

I was at, of all things, a chili cook-off during that Elite 8 game. It was at a bar, and I was watching with another big UConn fan. And we we both knew Horne's shot was going in.
