UConn Women's Soccer '24

UCW schedule also shows on ESPN+....
I just signed up for 6 mos free "ESPN+"
that was available to me through my Sirius/XM subscription (got that while ago for a $5/ mo. deal) ...

I doubt WHUS radio is carrying the game.......

WHUS carried the Big East women's soccer tournament finals down in Maryland, but they did not broadcast the first round game of the NCAA Tourney that UConn had with Rutgers. Yes, it is hard to figure on what games they will do, that is for sure.

WHUS is not carrying the game. UConn has a 1-0 lead in the middle of the 1st half.

Hell of a strike by Anaya Johnson!
Stanford is living in our side of the pitch. And we can't sustain any offensive flow.

Not sure how they scored but Stanford tied it in the 86th minute

Oh well. It still was a very good season

That was predictable ..... :(...

Very good game- very little UC offense after their fairly early-on super goal....., that is, until maybe about last 10?... min.....
I knew UC couldn't hold that team scoreless.....even with only 5-6 min left........

The talent difference was massive so the fact we had a lead with 10 minutes in the game is commendable.

EVENT...and Season......ended......

Ended like field hockey. 1st half lead, 2nd half heartbreak. Good season overall.

Totally different from Field Hockey. FH team, with a great regular season, was the #3 seed in the nation and lost, at home, to an unseeded UMass. Soccer team won its first round game on the road, before losing to nationally ranked Stanford on a neutral field.

I meant the final games not the seasons. I said "ended like field hockey". Both teams were outplayed but leading at the half and gave up 2 in the 2nd half for heartbreaking losses.

I forgot the game was on but wasn't aware of the score when I caught up to it. The problem with watching tournament soccer on delay is that you know in advance that the game isn'r going into extra time. So when Stanford got their goal, the game became like watching one of those movies where you know the good guy is going to get whacked but you don't know how or when. Every close call I was saying to myself "here it is!" a split second in advance. And then when they didn't score, I started thinking "here's our chance". As for the ending, in the words of Howard Cosell "It was inevitable".

Stanford women and Arkansas, in sweet 16 round Sunday, tied 1-1, with Stanford winning, 3-2 in penalty kicks---
Elite Eight opponent- at Notre Dame....Friday....

Stanford men also won on PK's........., 2nd round game...
