Women UConn WLax headed to 2021 NCAA Tournament

-> UConn earned an at-large bid and will make the program’s second-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament when it plays Virginia (8-8) in the first round on Friday, May 14 at 5 p.m. in South Bend, Indiana. The winner will advance to the second round and play the winner of No. 5 seed Notre Dame vs Robert Morris.

The Huskies finished the regular season with a 12-6 record and won a program-record seven Big East conference games. UConn was the No. 2 seed in the Big East Championship before losing the title game to No. 15-ranked Denver, 13-7. UConn head coach Katie Woods and her assistants were named the Big East Coaching Staff of the Year.

UConn’s last time in the tournament was in 2013 when it also earned an at-large bid before falling to No. 8 seed Massachusetts, 14-10, in the first round. <-

I'm hearing today's LAX game is on ESPN3 @ 5 pm. With softball at noon on FS2, you can start your weekend of couch potatoing early.

Not a very good showing by UConn. Virginias record was terrible and UConn still lost. Just not ready to compete against P5 schools. This seems to be the future of UConn, a lot of one and done down the road in all sports. Midmajors cannot compete against P5.

UVA was a top 20 ranked team this year...
Just goes to show one that conference affiliation means everything. One can be great in a midmajor conference, but not so great when you play a P5. This is observed time and time again. Always disappointing to see UConn go down early on in a tournament.

You tried to portray UVA as a crappy team... they were ranked as high as 11 heading into the tourney. UConn lost to a better team 19-13 after making the Tourney for the first time in 8 years while UVA made the Tourney for the 25th consecutive year.

Virginia s record was terrible bc they play in the top conference in the country. Acc had 5 of the top 7 seeds.
uconn was probably the last at large to make the tourney. No shame in losing.

Yes the WBB team is in deep trouble, surely.

Amazed this troll hasn’t been banned.

UConn is now even doing the heavy metal "horns up" sign now to represent the Huskies?!!?!?!

I don't enjoy seeing UConn lose to anyone. Maybe you do. Almost is not good enough. Maybe they need to schedule more out of conference matches against P5 schools, at least then one knows where one stands in reality.

Some of the girls teams and track teams have been doing this for maybe 15 years. It’s more like the NC State wolf pack sign where it’s making a dog with your hand (index and pinky are the ears and middle/ring and thumb are the face).

Right...Virginia is better than their record would indicate....the Elite Eight has Notre Dame, Boston College, North Carolina, Syracuse, and Duke...that's a tough conference schedule.

Ummmm....Boston College beat Syracuse in the Women’s Final.

Virginia won the Men’s Championship.

Okay..Okay...you stickler for details....I got the two ACC teams crossed in my post....

Or..it was a sneaky way to get in the mention that it was a good year for ACC Lax.
