Your naivete is admirable.

Buddy you proposed that joining the Big 10 would kill off UConn football... Because they won't get calls.

A program that has been losing to Western Michigan and Temple is going to die because the mean refs will give Michigan calls.

Seriously - if they are good enough so that the refs need to fix games against Michigan.... Can't you even comprehend how much better the program would need to be for that to happen? If the program got to that level, this would kill it off. Nebraska, Wisconsin, Ohio State and Michigan coming to East Hartford for conference games and biased officiating would keep us away.

Joining the Big 10 would kill UConn football. Yep. Sure thing giant beer.

Things are quiet about our B1G invitation. Heard invitations went out and one was received. Could be. A huge event if verified.
Seems unlikely, since Herbst in her recent open letter suggested patience on the order of years, and quite directly stated they have no sense where things are headed. I'd like to think the phrase "good things come to those who wait", but I think the more appropriate saying for college football is "if you snooze, you lose".

I know the B1G. You don't.

It's as simple as that.

You can't make you up: Folks, UConn shouldn't join the Big Ten because the in game officiating will be so biased it will kill the football program.

It takes a true genius to craft something so stupid that even Spackler and Waylon can sit back and laugh at it.

If you think I'm one of the few that say this, you don't know the B1G. The certainty that this is how the B1g works is held by many fans outside of PSU. And it's not only the fans. When Paterno spoke up on this issue, Alvarez and Tiller were right behind him and backed him. So go ahead, and think it's phony--the plain fact is, you don't know what the you're talking about. But that's not a surprise to anyone on the Boneyard.

Lmao. Penn State fans not being able to look at an issue affecting Penn State objectively and lacking any reasonable perspective. Absolutely shocking.

Will you for one second think? Every conference's fans think there are schools that get preferential treatment from the refs.

Funny how none of Purdue, Wisconsin or Penn State has left the conference over it. Strange that Wisconsin is headed to a third straight Rose Bowl and Michigan State played for a title but Michigan hasn't. So maybe just maybe it isn't a real factor in what conference affiliation a school chooses given the opportunity.

Yeah the ACC is a better play at half the revenue because the football refs don't favor schools. EXCEPT THAT ACC REFS DO THE EXACT SAME THING THAT YOU CLAIM THE BIG TEN REFS DO.

Sweet Jesus. It is amazing a school with the reputation of Penn State has polluted the internet with such jackassery.

You don't need to watch many Big Ten games to figure out the officiating is bad enough to warrant the claims of favoritism.

Does every conference have coaches that come out in a united front on this issue? No.

Frankly, you don't know WTF you're talking about on this issue. The calls have been logged out there on the internet for everyone to see. It's not a mystery. This isn't a matter of blown calls. It's not a matte of refs getting things colossally wrong as in the Seattle-Green Bay game this year. That's not what this is about.

Guy I'm not arguing there isn't favoritism. I'm pointing out it's an idiotic reason to not want to be in the conference, or the idea it would hurt the football program. Seriously have you not witnessed the last few years? It would be worse?

I didn't say UConn should turn down a B1G invite. That's silly beyond reason. Oh my god, do you have some bad reading comprehension.

Always like it when someone is in the know like me. My question is, if I didn't tell you about donations drying up, how did you find out. You been putting snooping bugs in with my donuts?

You sound like an OSU fan. Michigan ain't exactly winning all the close ones.

The calls are inexplicable. I could go over several of them, and you wouldn't believe it. You've seen nothing like it before, ever. Like adding time for inexplicable reasons in the final minute, like after a 4th down and goal failed with time expiring, the refs called a penalty for crowd noise, given the Wolverines a 5th down, and it goes on and on and on. In one game, a TE for OSU was standing up when he dropped the ball and it hit the ground, it bounced up as he dove down, and there are photos and videos of the ref looking right at it--called a completion to continue a late game go ahead drive.

There are so many more but my favorite was when Tony Johnson got 3 feet in bounds on a 4th down play that would have given PSU the win. When the ref called him out of bounds, Johnson's father, the DL coach, was standing right by the ref, and instead of arguing, he just laughed. He had a huge smile on his face. This is the attitude toward the referines. It's like, "Why am I not surprised by that call?" There's a reason why Joe Tiller and Barry Alvarez came out in public and backed Paterno.

1-how can we use this upstater ref intelligence in the b10 to our advantage to getting the uss ct into the b10. bombing the refs house is a given, but we need more!?!?
2-whaler needs to keep argueing no matter the issue so we can get more info on this topic but when we get enough will whaler argue with us over the intelligence earned and who it belong to?
3-is this joepa guy? is he the one who tried to kill of easter college football 40 years ago and then claimed he wanted a east coast league with certain teams? this guy? sounds like a friend of a petafile to me but whos asking. anyway.

Head coach should hang a ref from the front door with a noose.

Have to look into this, don't know if he was against Xmas football or Easter football, but I do know he most despised Valentine's Day football. I don't know if he was a lover of flowers or the org. that's against animal cruelty.

UConn will end up in the best situation possible for it. In a conference with very strong basketball and lukewarm football that won't kill off interest. Even in a weak ACC, teams like Maryland and BC have lost a lots of fans because of the losses. Moving to the B10 would protect UConn basketball and athletics, but might kill off football. The bigwigs in the B10 go all out to make sure that the top teams snuff out the smaller ones. In this regard, Maryland and Rutgers are the perfect patsies.

And just for your reference Upstater here is where you proposed joining the Big Ten might kill off UConn football.

Your opening point is that the ACC woul be better for UConn than the Big 10 because of this conclusion.

Are you still stating that joining the Big 10 would create less interest in UConn football rather than more? Nice easy question to answer. I expect your reply will be a few insults and not include a simple yes or no to this query.

Less than the ACC? Yes!! That has nothing to do with arguing we should decline a B1G offer.

That's a ridiculous strawman and you know it. Judging from various responses to your posts in this thread, a lot of other people know it too!
