No… had to win the AQ. Looks like Hockey East will only get 1 in this year. Will they get an at large?
I had a feeling that was gonna happen. HEA women are not as strong as the men nationally. That’s crazy. Win the regular season. Get upset by a perennial power in the tourney and not get a bid? That stinks
That 0-10 needs to spike up. A lot.16 of the 64 men's D1 teams make their tourney (25%). 11 of the 44 women' teams make their tourney. Also 25%.
HE men were 75-29-3 outside the conference (.715). Women were 29-34-2 (.462): 13-21-1 vs ECAC, 0-10-0 vs WCHA
I agree, 16 teams is not happening until more schools have women's programs. The NCAA rule is quite clear. No more than 25% of the teams in the tournament. In fact, with AIC dropping back to D-2, I think the men;s side will be potentially losing a berth if their numbers don't increase again. Guessing though that with the house settlement increasing football roster sizes, there will be more women's hockey teams formed as the Title 9 response.16 of the 64 men's D1 teams make their tourney (25%). 11 of the 44 women' teams make their tourney. To your point, the ECAC's RS 4th place team just beat HE's RS 2nd place team. From the box score it looks like the game was over after the first period when Clarkson out shot BU 13-3 and took a 2-0 lead. Periods 2 and 3 it looks like Clarkson played defensively, something they will have to do on Saturday if they are gonna have any chance against Wisconsin. I kinda doubt anyone is gonna beat the Badgers though. I think the WCHA is on a different level having seen Minnesota last year in Durham.16 of the 64 men's D1 teams make their tourney (25%). 11 of the 44 women' teams make their tourney. Also 25%.
