Uconn wbb at the Sun/Storm game

Why the WNBA has games like this on facebook, while they have Washington at Atlanta on NBAtv. The Storm and Sun are currently the top two teams in the league standings and are the division leaders. While both the Mystics and Dream have losing records.

Is that Phee hugging KLS? And standing next to CW in the second pic?

Make sure to get Sue's autograph for all the player's (and parents)

Here's one with Stewie and Morgan in the mix

If you look at the box score, the three UConn grads in the starting lineup also had the most assists in the game....a telling statistic and a lesson in sharing the ball, UConn style?

May they continue to do so.....on with the season and hopefully, another Seattle championship. What will that be? Sue's 5th if and when it happens?

13 out of 14, only Edwards missing due to Canadian team commitments. Plus four UConn legends.

As far as moments in time go, for us Husky fans it doesn`t get much better than this!

The young UConn players must be pinching themselves. What a tradition to be a part of!

Because ANYONE can see it... :)

The ladies and CD at the game today...and saying hi to Sue and Lou after game.

Is that CD in the yellow blouse standing to the left of our team? A good "field trip" for the girls. Especially for those that don't have a car on campus and need to get off the yard for a few hours. A chance to bond while watching how it's done at the next level.

Yes, that was CD in the yellow blouse chaperoning those young lambs on that field trip to make sure no hurt, harm or danger befalls them. It would have been nice if that video was a little longer. :)

For some of them, this was the first chance they had to meet Lou, Stewie, Sue and Morgan. I would imagine that most of those pictured in the stands will one day find their way onto the floor. With UConn alum Morgan Tuck now working in administration for the Sun, I would imagine that a simple phone call from the office/or coaching staff can get them tickets/passes to any game they choose to attend. ;) Lou finally got with the team she needed to be with.

Just missing Jen!
No doubt she will attend at least one home game this year. Senior night if not one of the top 5 opponents games.

Our newbies seemed stunned

“We weren’t really chatting about much,” Bird said, laughing. “I found out they’re in summer school, they’re working out, and the summer school’s still on Zoom so they’re living that life. That was my first time meeting the new freshmen in person. Otherwise, it was a lot of us just staring at each other.”

Sunday was something of a homecoming for Bird. She’s one of three former Huskies on Seattle’s roster, joining Katie Lou Samuelson and Stewart, the reigning regular-season (Aja Wilson may be pissed ) and Finals MVP. Head coach Noelle Quinn has jokingly dubbed the team the “Seattle UConn Huskies.”

UConn legend Sue Bird continuing to prove age is just a number: 'Sue is just doing what Sue does' (nhregister.com)

I wouldn’t want to be the first team to visit Storrs or Hartford or even Mohegan this season to play the Huskies. With this team and a full house of rabid fans ready to shake off two years of weirdness. I hope we see many more such photos this season.

what's the over/under of how many members of this years squad 21/22 will make the pros and come back to visit the Uconn squad for 2031/2032 that's a 2 part question how many will go pro as in WNBA and how many will return for a reunion

Geno usually schedules two "exhibition" home games prior to the start of the regular season. Usually Division 2 teams. Those teams come in knowing they are are going to lose and lose BIG. They consider it an honor to play UConn, and visit the Hallowed "shrine" commonly known as Gampel Pavilion. They get to see all of the awards and trophies in the Werth Center, as well as all of the banners on the wall inside Gampel. They always take lots of pictures to memorialize their visit. It's an experience you don't forget. It's like you'll always remember the first time you visit the Boston Gardens, or Madison Square Garden.

For most of these players, it will be the first and last time they set foot inside Gampel. They use this game as a learning tool to measure where they are, and where they should strive to be. It's a good bet that Geno has a long waiting list of D-2 schools that would like to be part of his exhibition rotation. We'll have to wait until the final schedule come out sometime in mid to late September to see who our first Division 1 home opponent will be. There's no way you can judge what you have against a lesser talented Division 2 opponent.
