NBC paid to be the secondary rights holder for the league. They paid to use it to build Peacock’s sports offerings. This may have been covered previously and if so, please bear with me: What exactly does the Big East conference and specifically UConn get out of having games streaming on Peacock because it certainly is not for UConn fans' benefit whatsoever. I would hope that streaming on Peaccock and other streaming services is financially beneficial and more so than having UConn games covered by SNY. Is the resulting $ to UConn available for the poor fan/alums to see or is it wrapped into a hundred other things and therefore essentially unknown?
The actual amount is anyone’s guess. But they are the leagues #2 partner now. We also know this based on how the MBB TV selection draft went.
