Morgan was a little rusty and perhaps less mobile than usual, but she had a nice return.

The Stewart and Jefferson Wrecking Crew was at their peak performance. Tulane has serious trouble inbounding the ball.

If we're picking three players, have to go with Stewie, Mo, and KLS. KLS did more than just make 3s tonight. A great game by KLS tonight looking very comfortable out there these days.

Good point. Stay alert for further review. ;)

Lou is indeed looking very good. 14 points, 4 boards, 3 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block. 0 turnovers.

Upon further review. . .

An additional BadAss Award goes to Katie Lou Sanuelson,

I just broke my unwritten rule -- maximum three BA's per game. Lou makes four for Tulane game. I justify this by stating that Morgan's award was not based on her performance while in the game but rather because she actually got into the game!;)

I don't know Kib, "That she actually got in the game" sounds more like you are handing out participation trophies. Morgan will be a bad ass in a future UCONN game-I would almost guarantee it.

I am a student of Morgan's gait.
I think I was the first to notice that it didn't look quite right at a a game at Hartford earlier this season.
Looks good now.

Morgan looked good to me especially on those two reverse layups. Who converts reverse layups in WCBB at a higher clip than Morgan?

How can a badass like Stewie get an award for being a badass? She is just being herself :) My vote goes to Collier.

Hopefully the 2 weeks off did a lot of good.

Remember back to the beginning of the season when all of the baskets all seem to have a "lid" on them when it was Lou's turn to shoot? Her shots were going everywhere but in the basket.

Fast forward to last night. The game has obviously slowed down just a bit for her, and her shooting percentage from behind the arc is steadily rising. She's looking like the Katie Lou we were introduced to when she was a senior in high school.

Her maturation is right on schedule. She appears to have found her rhythm, and is now knocking down 3's on a regular basis. If she lost her shot, she's found it. Lou will be counted on during the NCAA tournament to contribute some meaningful and productive minutes during UConn's run for the championship.

If she can continue to dial in from 3 point land, she will give UConn 4 players (Stewart, Jefferson, Nurse, Samuelson) that will be a constant threat to knock down a 3 at any time on a consistent basis. As most teams have only 1 0r 2 players capable of shooting 3's, UConn's very capable quartet will have a distinct advantage against most teams.

Of course if UConn can keep the threat of shooting from beyond the arc a viable alternative, this will cause opponents to play them honestly and not allow them to "cheat" or help on defense, thus allowing Morgan Tuck and Gabby Williams and Breanna Stewart lots of room to operate under the basket 1 on 1, be it lay ups, or mid-range jumpers.

I think Moriah was the one who really rattled the WAVE's offense. but, I don't mind Stewie being the one.

Moriah caused the Tulane guards to be looking over their shoulders. She and Stewie demoralized Tulane early on.

I have to go with ....STEWIE and GABBY.....Stewie will always be in the mix. But Gabby came in off the bench with 15pts and 6 boards!! Now to me that was BADASS.

You make an excellent point, and as I have thought about it, I may have erred in overlooking Gabby.

As I watched the game I (and heh heh Tulane) was overwhelmed by the demolition job carried out by the UConn Dynamic Duo in the first half. Stewie's deadly shooting and MoJeff's repetitive acts of larceny were in true Badass tradition. :)

I added a third BA award to Morgan which may have been overly generous. I plead guilty but I am neither remorseful nor repentant -- I was just soooo damned glad to see her back that it may have caused a momentary lapse in my judgment. Sorry.

Next, I was persuaded to give Lou a BA award based solely on her excellent stat line. Upon much further review I should say, "Great game Lou, but not quite nasty enough to be a true Badass." As for Gabby, "My eye test was out of focus -- I missed your Badass performance."

Now to re calibrate before the SC game on Monday. :)

OK, I know she had a poor shooting night but you have to admit that there was something very "badass" about Kia trying to rip off the bandage on her (not sure which) wrist out of frustration.
