Bria.

!

It's not that Bria is quicker than anybody they've got - she isn't. It's that she is more aggressive than anyone else we have, and she has no hesitation. No hesitation = effective quickness

Dumb turn overs. Players aren't getting open to receive passes

Further proof that Bria is at least a 2nd-team All-American.

Will be interesting to see ND's adjustments on her.

Terrible. Didn't take advantage of those minutes without Achonwa or Peters. Going to live to regret that.

On the bright side, the team as a whole can play better than that, and it's a tie game.

UConn playing better than recent games but so many awful passes. ND is incredibly aggressive. Reminds me of past UConn teams.

CBS should be ashamed. Starting the game late and then it's impossible to hear the announcers. On second thought, maybe I shouldn't complain about that. ;)

Is there any other UCONN fan as dumbfounded as me as to WHY we did not go down low on every position when Dolson & Kiah were in????!! Especially when Peters and Achonwa on the bench...ugh

Both teams playing great defense, most of the time. ND's on ball defense is really tough, and that is probably the reason we could not build a bigger lead with Peters and Achonwa on the bench.... should have been getting points from Stef then. Geno needs to get his team settled down to win this game.

Yeah, but so can ND.

Neither team played well at all. Seemed like too much intensity and too hyped up. Careless passes, careless with the ball, bad shots, player control fouls, etc. The teams can not maintain the same pace in the 2nd half, right?

ND's ability to turn a play into a scrum and come out of it smelling good is very disturbing. They have the ability, even more than Baylor, to throw UConn completely off its rhythm.

For a while maybe; no way for the whole 2nd half.

UConn saved by 5/9 shooting from 3 in 1st half, vs 1/5 from Irish.
From 2 pt land, UConn just 6/20 (30%), while ND is 11/25 (44%).

Muffet is the best coach in the country in coaching against Geno. She understands him and counters with a collection of defenses that disrupt all sense of rhythm in UConn's offense and has done that regularly for years.

I think a big part of that is that each teams defense is doing a nice job taking away things on offense. For example, this is probably the best team UCONN has seen (Or will see) in terms of drawing charges.

With the intensity so far, it's going to be hard for the starters as the second half wears on .... somebody is going to have to want it more than the opponent.

Can we stay focused and execute toward the end, unlike the Baylor game...? We shall see

The odds are against us. Statistics have a way of evening out, and UConn's 3-point shooting was better than average, while ND's was alost nonexistent. If both revert to the norm, UConn loses unless the team develops some teamwork and does something other than shoot threes. In the first half, there were too many plays in which one UConn player was left with one option-- stop and pop or drive to the basket.
