Moriah Jefferson.

While Stewie, Kia and Morgan were on cruise control, Mo was in overdrive. ;)

It was hard to ignore Lou for BA recognition but she may have earned something more important: position in the starting lineup. Time will tell. ;)

yeah, I think I would have given a second one out to Lou - solid game shooting, defending and leading the team in assists. Her two steals and the charge drawn were good.

I wouldn't be surprised to see KLS in the starting lineup in one of the next few games if she continues to play as she did against Memphis. Napheesa has played well as a starter, but not so well that KLS could not displace her if the Memphis game is representative of her consistent level of play.

I get the sense Collier hasn't figured out her role in the offense yet - Geno complained a few games ago that in practice Collier scores every time she touches the ball in the lane, and he assumed that would be what she did in games - instead she becomes a passer. Lou on the other hand seems to be figuring it out a bit better at this point, having struggled mightily at the start of the season.

I also like what I am seeing from Gabby - she is being more active on offense and moving through different spots on the court rather than trying to plant around the free throw line.

I would be surprised. That combo of KLS and Gabby coming off the bench in the middle of the first quarter has been pretty devastating, and he may not want to fool with that. In the post game presser, Geno said that he started Lou in the second half because Memphis had totally packed the lane and he thought he needed another three-point shooter to combat that approach. With Napheesa-Kia rotating with Gabby-Lou, there is always a three-point threat on the floor and a smaller post who can switch effectively onto an opposing guard.

Did anyone notice that Moriah came close to playing a perfect game? Her one missed field goal attempt and two personal fouls were the only blemishes in a stellar performance. Could it be that she is still underrated?

Frankly, I thought Kia's going toe-to-toe physically with the one player and helping lay three personal fouls on her would be a no-brainer. Whether she brings her A-game or not, she always the toughest player on the floor, IMHO, which is why I think she gets a lot of playing time even when her shots aren't falling.

Moriah has started the last two years shooting poorly especially from three - at or below .300 - as a sophomore and junior she surged in late December through January and raised her percentages by 100 to 200 percentage points having strings of games where she was going hitting .650 or better from three . This year she started the year shoot better from three than in the pervious two years, but has not had that acceleration yet - I am hoping this 3-4 effort signals the turning point.

We haven't seen her put her hair up yet this year, either. That was clearly the key last year.
