Stewie and Saniya.

Stewie rose to the occasion -- a simple matter of Stewie being Stewie. The incomparable one.

My daughter (on U. Md. staff) and grandson (recent U. Md. grad) had much to cheer about, both realizing that UConn brought its "B" game and their Terps brought their "A" game. They held out hope for an impossible dream to come true until Saniya abruptly turned it into a nightmare with that heartbreaking trey ("three ball in the corner pocket," as some NBA announcers would call it).

I guess we could say that she was well rested.

Tonight she was a Badass.:)

I have to admit, I wasn't so sure that was the best option when she let it go :)

I vote TEAM............Stewie/Saniya/Mo/Morgan/Kia/Gabby/Napheesa..........All contributed in key moments during the game. The game was so close throughout that any one(1) play , good or bad , could have turned the tide and momentum. And all the Huskies made key plays at one point. From a key basket , to a steal , to a rebound.

IMHO , they were all badasses last night.

Saniya adds some strong depth off the bench.

It took awhile, but now that Saniya has learned how to keep her man "in front of her" (a liability that plagued her the last two years), Geno can insert her into the game at any time now without fear of a big drop off. She's almost as fast as Mo, she can shoot, and she's good at protecting the ball.

Saniya also had an uncharacteristic swagger last night in her minutes. Running point a few times and directing traffic down the stretch, when the game was very much in doubt. It was great to see, and I'm happy for her, especially as a junior.

Kibitzers- I have to say- you starting this Bad -ass award was a stroke of genius!
And it really provokes real thought and interesting and diverse opinions.
I live it- I could vote now for Mo for the entire rest of the season and make a pretty good case. But the same can be made for almost everyone else of the top 8 players. And the fact that Saniya could tie a 40 minute Mo, 39 minute Stewie or a 36 minute Tuck makes this an awesome daily discussion!

Why is it when outstanding people do outstanding things---it's is reported as ORDINARY?? If someone in the middle of the Uconn bench played the game at half the level of intensity and productivity--she would be acclaimed as HOLY MOLY she was exceptional. Saying that was Stewie just being Stewies --to me-- seems to discredit what she does--which is amazing, outstanding, incredible--and outstanding performance
to say the least--and she deserves much more.
Next December (2016) many will be lamenting, with broken hearts, and memories of true exceptionalism--what it was like in 2015/16 season. Let us now know and shout loudly how exceptional she is NOW.. Even repeating over and over the same refrain!!!
Not picking a fight--nor intended to discredit your Baa Dass awards--it happen way too often to those who do great things and sometimes to those who do terrible things---he/she is just being he/she--.
Since this is Uconn Women---etc.
Saniya ---is heralded for the 3 pointer at the end--- she did so much more--she made a driving scooping layup when Uconn was having trouble scoring. She played very good defense, when her team wasn't playing Uconn type defense. She truly deserves your praise and award. With these old tired eyes I was seeing Saniya and thinking Nurse, so until I watched the game 3 times did I finally realize it was MS Chong. Has Ms Chong finally returned to the top 6 or 7 and maybe starting a few games???

I'll second that!! I like all the girls, but Mo is my favorite player. She has been since the Baylor game. Team first, hustles all the time, unselfish, will do anything to help her team win. And most important, she's a great person.

Favorite Stewie play that game was she came down court put her forearm up and ran into Jones and moved her about 3 feet. An obvious uncalled foul but she was just being a badass.

I must offer a rebuttal to your criticism of my comments about Stewie.

First I praised her as she "rose to the occasion" -- Stewie being Stewie -- then I added: "The incomparable one."

Nothing "ordinary" about anything I wrote. Purely highest raise, richly deserved and acknowledged by me. I guess you just misread it,
