We will blow them out tomorrow. We played too loose defensively for a brief stretch and that was all it took. Vomacka wasn't able to bail out the defense as he was kind of lackluster also.

I wonder if a home loss to a team this bad knocks us down to 6th based on what else happens in the league tonight.

Providence and Northeastern, who were both right below us in the 5/6 spots when the day started, are playing each other tomorrow and Sunday. I'm thinking we need one team to beat the other in both games, and we need to take care of business tomorrow.

Hope that would keep us in the top 5.
 
Lost 4th in a row after being ranked for the first time? We clearly have the talent, but it is a team that can't stand prosperity. Losses to UML and tonight are especially painful. Coach C sure can recruit, but can he coach and win consistently? It is a fair question - it seems that we always are moving one step forward, one step back. Bottom line - a win today is imperative!

Have really enjoyed being able to watch a bunch of UConn's games this year. A good product on the ice. I've watched more UConn hockey this year on TV/streaming than I have all hockey in the past decade.

Was a Whalers fan as a kid and they moved to Carolina about the same time I left the northeast and non NHL team really kept my attention. I go to a few games a year in my area with a SPHL franchise and have fun.

I mention all this because that 10 minute time period of end of first period and start of second was a real turd.
 
Liked the Randy B and Coach Parker duo pretty well (except “eXpecially). We miss Firstov and Howarth desperately (that suspension was crap).

What is the best outcome for us regarding the Province/Northeastern game? Outright loss for one of them? Which one? Tie?
 
This season ending slump reminds me a bit of last year...we needed one win out of the last two (Umass or UML) to get a home series and we lost both. Turned out we lost the playoffs to Covid as well. This year, it was the first round bye we were gunning for and I fear it will be tough to achieve that Based on this 4 game losing streak. Just gotta win the rest and hope things shake out, I suppose. I’m forever hopeful when it comes to these boys!

Considering the strides the program have taken, I'd say its more like 1.5 steps forward and 1 step back.

I'd say either team losing twice and us winning would put us back in 5th with one weekend to go. A split between the two and us winning? Not sure.

And us losing today? well it won't matter at that point.
