For those who are there - is anyone else there? What's the crowd like
As much as people complain about this game being Bridgeport, Webster Bank is a really nice arena. I’d trade Gampel for it in a flash. Maybe the school transport it for 41 million dollars.
It was nice to see all 559 downstaters there as well. Couldn’t go to a game right in their own backyard? The silence of the typically sanctimonious people yelling at downstaters not making it to Storrs, who couldn’t reciprocate here, is deafening.
Anybody know why this one was in Bridgeport mid week against Maine? Isn’t that the longest trip in the league? Just seems like odd scheduling. And they have never drawn people playing there. If it’s an experiment they should stop.
PS it really is a nice arena. If they build a new XL it should be based on Webster Bank Arena.
...that's on them. I went. Great hockey, and a good game.It was nice to see all 559 downstaters there as well. Couldn’t go to a game right in their own backyard?

The main campus of the school is located in Storrs. Not Hartford, not Bridgeport, not Waterbury. Storrs.
One can hope that is a short term/big game solution. Having to play in Bridgeport in a mid week game is really kind of cheesy however good the facility. One the Z ( names for zls44) is online this game WiFi be there...and the Men's home rink is the XL. Your point?
