Lou, Stewie and Mo. [N.B. No, that's not the Three Stooges!]
Katie Lou for reprising Kaleena (3 pts. at a time);
Stewie for reprising Kiah (another block party); and,
Mo for reprising Diana (by making only the second unbelievable "tip pass" I've seen in a dozen years).

Nat sure tried to be a Badass but almost overdid it. :)

I say we toss one over to ECU. They played as hard as any team has played us this year; they were aggressive, constantly in motion, played strong defense, went hard after the 50/50 balls...all while being down big AND with an extraordinarily short bench. This was a GREAT game for us late in the year, in preparation for the Tournament, doubly so given the disappointing South Carolina game.

If the officials had continued calling a basketball game for the last 7-8 minutes, there is no doubt ECU would have been down to its last player, and one of the remaining would have had 4 fouls. The question is, would they have pulled back on the throttle, or charged forward, knowing they would be risking a forfeit? Too bad we'll never know.

I admire your sentiments but am wary of being too generous when acknowledging opponents' excellence. Think about how distasteful it would have been to honor Badass opponents like Amber Orrange (buzzer-beater for Stanford in That Damn Game) or Mabrey2 for raining treys for ND.:mad::mad:

No thanks. Let's keep our Badasses in the UConn family, OK?:)

Let's also keep it down to less than three or the "award" gets meaningless.

I would add in Butler. If you have to take someone out, I would take out Mo. She is, of course, fabulous, and that was a great play, but that play is not my definition of badass.

I respectfully disagree. The criteria we have used to identify players (and a couple others) as Badasses are actions that tend to disrupt or demoralize opponents. Steals, blocks, rebounds or seizure of 50-50 loose balls are more important than points. Timely dagger-in-the-heart shots (specialties of KML an DT) count big-time. No consideration for dirty play or poor sportsmanship, of course.

That tip pass by Mo was ultimate Badass -- the kind of play to break the spirit of any opponent.

Sorry, we must agree to disagree this time.

Comments welcome.

Okay. I tend to think of it as more "hardnosed", though not dirty. But I see your point too.
